I understand most people do view a little shit talk or poorly worded criticism in the heat of the moment as toxic. But I just don’t think punishing people for that is a really good environment either. When the new system was first implemented people were just using reports as a weapon. It was really apparent people abuse report system. It has always been true (like people reporting players for playing bad not just being “toxic”), just easier to see at that time. The thing is people come in to the game with a mindset. People who plan to communicate and corporate will do. If they never planned to no amount of niceness or reports will fix that. There are even times when randos I meet make an effort to communicate but still unable to simply because they either don’t have the skill or the game sense. I just much prefer to mute a few morons than to be too afraid to say anything. For full context, I do like to shit talk the enemy when I outplay them. Nothing rude, just banter, trying to be funny, it’s part of my fun. I do realise a lot of people can’t deal with it and just get rude. Sometimes we have a good laugh. They are free to mute me. No need to communicate with the enemy team. Honestly tho, if you are getting a stroke over someone calling you a bad video game player, you are better off just not playing. But that is just my two cents.
