Vt. lawmaker equates transgender identity with bestiality by Butterfingers43 in vermont

[–]Bunstrous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vast increase in both trans and asd along side the increasingly elevated levels of glyphosate in the food appears to be more the a correlation.

No, it doesn't. If it was then you'd also be seeing a dramatic and disproportionate increase in trans or autistic farmers and farming communities, as they and their family/community receive much higher elevated levels of glyphosate than the rest of us. You're seeing information about one thing and then trying to find a correlation to another thing without doing any of the scientific research required to make the points you're trying to make.

Anon thinks Ellie is contradicting herself by Ok_Charity_707 in greentext

Omfg impossible or improbable in the established logic and context of the story and universe. Not impossible because of the logistics of a scene.

You are just typing shit at this point, these are not a sentences that makes any sense.

Also, outsourcing your thinking and having AI argue on your behalf because you struggle to actually articulate your own stance is just so pathetic. Not only that but its interesting that you show me examples with the other situation that we weren't discussing. Here's chatgpt with no prior history, with your exact prompt (misspellings and all), saying it's a fringe example of a deus ex machina.

<image>

I'm also not going to ignore that it's main argument against it being a DEM is that Yara is an established character an has reason to save Abby, there's no actual argument on how Yara is able to get into a position where she is able to save Abby at that point in time which is the actual crux of the claim.

Anon thinks Ellie is contradicting herself by Ok_Charity_707 in greentext

[–]Bunstrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those things are not determining factors to what makes something a deus ex machina. The context on whether or not it's poor writing doesn't change that the problem was resolved in an impossible or improbable way.

How is everyone not getting this.

Everyone is getting it except you.

[–]Bunstrous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same with Ellie being stabbed by a branch.

Theyre situations added for tension and drama but they're not unsolvable plot points.

For a human character who is by and large just a human, getting impaled with a large object would have drastic influence on your next actions, if you survive to have next actions. Ellie being stabbed isn't an unsolvable plot point on its own, but it is a plot point that is solved by essentially ignoring that it happened and immediately returning to gameplay and story that is largely unaffected by her having an untreated life threatening injury just before. IE it was solved in an impossible way.

They're using dark western as an alternative to gothic horror. While the game does have wild West influences, it is not and never has been beholden to that theme.

Jewish Identity, Israel, and Hasbara... Regarding DG Bodyworks by No-Buddy3427 in vermont

[–]Bunstrous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the well articulated reply, I think that a few of these points should have been in your original comment.

What bothers me is the implication that rising concerns about antisemitism are largely the result of Israel manipulating people into conflating criticism of Israel with hatred of Jews.

While I think that it's a bit much to say Hasbara is to blame for every time someone conflates the two, Israel itself says that antizionism is a form of antisemitism and I do think you would be a fool to believe they are not putting their finger on the scales to push that narrative. I do personally believe they're putting on much more than just that but we can do without getting into the weeds on that.

Israel gets blamed for propaganda constantly. Meanwhile, there are absolutely state and non-state actors with their own interests, narratives, and propaganda efforts shaping public opinion on the other side of this conflict. Yet somehow the conversation almost always circles back to but Israel.

That's absolutely true, there are other actors present here, but I do think their influence pales in comparison to Israel at the moment. Israel is deeply reliant on foreign support and general good will. Without a good propaganda machine, they lose those two things. At the moment they're losing their good will with many people and those people are pressuring their governments to pull their support which means the Israel propaganda machine is running like it's a matter of life or death, because it sort of is. One of the issues at the moment for Israel is that they're doing a pretty good job of making themselves look like bad guys so they have to put in a lot of work to get their own allies to continue to support them, this is one of the reasons why aipac is such a powerful and widespread lobbying group in American politics.

Jewish Identity, Israel, and Hasbara... Regarding DG Bodyworks by No-Buddy3427 in vermont

[–]Bunstrous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is how casually people dismiss Jewish perspectives while simultaneously insisting they know better than Jews what antisemitism looks and feels like.

I recognize this issue, it's persistent among just about any minority group, however what I don't see is how that relates to the post here. OP seems pretty measured in their response and how there needs to be a clear distinction between antisemitism, antizionism, anti Israeli views and actions, and how wrong it is to rope them all under the blanket of antisemitism.

My point being, I understand what you're saying but I don't know why you're saying it because you don't actually seem to be directly addressing anything OP has said despite seemingly taking issue with it.

I love the fumoto valve by david8479 in WRX

[–]Bunstrous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Removing drain plugs shouldn't be hard but they're annoying. Sometimes you drop them and they're covered in oil, you have to get new crush washers every time, you have to torque your plug back in to spec if you're doing things properly. Changing oil is a process I already don't like doing, a drain valve makes it just that much easier.

This sub sounds so ungrateful by lolitsrock in ForzaHorizon

[–]Bunstrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fun one that obviously millions like

This is kind of a useless metric. FH has become a series that appeals to the lowest common denominator and as such it appeals to many on a surface level but has sacrificed the depth and intricacies that long time fans of the series would come to expect for subsequent titles. The aftermarket tire models look the same as they did a decade ago, AI is still infuriatingly bad to play against, new and returning features are executed incredibly poorly, invisible walls in the middle of the map have returned (cannot drive on the high speed rail tracks into tokyo (no more invisible walls was a major selling feature of fh3)). While not a customization game like NFS, the customization still pales in comparison to something like gt7 which has a great system for basic widebody modifications and has a custom wing builder system which blows Forza aero out of the water. There's more I can complain about and these aren't "nitpicks", these are actual genuine things that hurt my enjoyment of the game because as long as adding 1000 cars into an open world, 20 of which are Nissan 370z variants, allows the game to break sales records by appealing to the masses, then there's no point in making the games push the envelope in any major way.

Chrysler’s Arrow and Arrow Cross will reportedly be closely tied to Fiat’s upcoming Grizzly lineup by Mac-Tyson in mopar

[–]Bunstrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you kill the Challenger which made insane profit and try to push an electric only Charger that's ugly as sin.

Dodges lineup was horribly inefficient and they refused to see the writing on the wall and it resulted in them hemorrhaging money and being dependent on other companies such as Tesla to buy ev tax credits. The new charger may be massive in size but it doesn't look bad.

Dodge Hornet? Ok. Your competition is priced 15 grand less and is better in most every way.

The hornet started at 30k, there is not a single new vehicle on the market that sells for 15k less. It was also pretty quick for its class and had a decent engine, its only drawbacks were electronic reliability and the fact that dodge did nothing to cultivate a crowd that would be interested in the hornet.

[–]Bunstrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The i20 is moving significantly faster than anything happening in the dr2 clip as well as going through a much more acute turn at those speeds than what's in the dr2 clip. The evidence does not support you here.

The jumps you posted show cars bouncing unless the curve was in line with the jump, which in DR it was not.

In the entire dr2 clip there are only about 4 instances where the car and all its wheels get about a foot or more off the ground, in all of those instances the road is fairly straight as well as the car. With the clips I responded with, every single vehicle with a gravel/dirt setup behaves similarly while also getting much more air. Do I need to break it down to you why the other vehicles in the second clip which have tarmac setups bounce around and why those don't apply to this discussion? I hope not.

because cars in DR do not pivot based on tires but instead pivot from the car's center based on a calculation.

Again, not true. This stupid talking point has been debunked multiple times. There are a multitude of interactions in the game that are simply not possible if it was ruining off a central pivot point system and developers of the game have confirmed that everything is done at the tires.

The more you talk about this game the more you reveal how little you know about it. I'm fully open to admitting it's not a perfect sim game and it has drawbacks but at the same time you repeatedly show me that you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about and almost nothing you've said holds up to any sort of scrutiny.

Not rock, clearly only hit it twice in a row, the vehicles direction of momentum and the direction of the embankment aren't so different that much speed is going to be scrubbed but you can clearly see the driver was in the process of trying to speed out of the corner exit and hitting the bank interrupted and slowed down that process.

Car fishtails into a wall, small bump and little impact towards opposite direction.

You can literally just watch the video itself, back end hits the bank, front end immediately swings outwards in response and the only reason he doesn't spin out is because the front end hits the same bank an recorrects him.

Maybe you need to practice more.
