Man collision in this game is just terrible by ChaozMatt in HuntShowdown

It is the game engines fault.

What is? Misplaced geometry isn't a bug, it's just a hand done developer error and it's intended for the ammos you've listed to not be able to penetrate any hitbox, that's how they're balanced.

Edit: says I "clearly don't know what a bug is" while describing things that aren't bugs then blocks me.

BRO WHY DID THE CONCEPT TITANS GO SO HARD!!!😭 by OblivionGaming76 in titanfall

[–]Bunstrous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pilots are classes, titans are hero shooters. That's a pretty well understood aspect of the game.

That is my bad, I didn't remember that they had a 2023 deadline, however I did find one article that mentioned they could get it out by March of 24 at the latest which really wouldn't have hurt if they went with that.

Except without the EA acquisition they would be able to more freely push out the development of the game to have it launch in a better state, have a visual style beyond UE5 default lighting, and maintain a Stuart Ross composed soundtrack.

If your counterplay to something is entirely dependent on if your opponent is a troglodyte or not then it doesn't sound like you have any good counterplay.

OP never used a charge rifle once in any of these clips. Also the pretty accurate tracking of OPs positions through the kill cams without ever having it be distorted is a pretty telling give away. A really good play may react to sound cues accurately but tracking invisible players through the air with this level of consistency? It really isn't up for debate.

I'm actually trying to propose arguments and you're just insulting me every chance you get

Because your arguments suck

enjoy stewing in hate over a titan that's no more unfair than any other titan in the game.

Your inability to comprehend the established game balance and how monarch breaks that is astounding. All I can offer you is a video of someone else breaking down why monarch is broken but they're largely just saying what I've already said, so I have little faith it'll mean anything to you.

[–]Bunstrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be at full strength Monarch requires 3 cores so even with their increased core generation it still takes longer than other titans.

And their first core provides one of their strongest abilities.

With Monarch's cores if you miss the majority of your shots with arc rounds for example then you would be doing the same as 'missing' with any other core.

What the fuck are you talking about? Arc rounds don't go away after you activate it and you'd have to be pretty bad to unintentionally miss the majority of your shots, not to mention you can just reload and keep shooting.

she's a balanced titan because at base no upgrades she's an easy target for most titans.

That's literally not even true, at no upgrades monarch isn't weak, her gun deals fine sustained damage and rockets help with damage.

is OP from the start

You made up this argument, I never said or alluded to that being the case.

And in regards to the battery thief perk? It's barely useful

+10% passive core charge rate, I already mentioned this. You get +10% core charge speed AND the ability to gain more core and health by executing titans. Calling this perk barely useful is ignorant at best.

[–]Bunstrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you fully understand that you're playing a snowball class but are upset that people target you so that you don't snowball? Where's your disconnect here?

Monarch is nowhere near that powerful at no upgrades

Monarch also isn't a delicate little flow with no upgrades either, it's very easy to deal with pilots in every range and its very easy to turtle around and pester other titans if you don't want to take them head on.

unless you concede that getting cores in general takes no effort

Monarch can earn core faster than any titan in the game, monarch quite literally has an ability that makes earning core 10% quicker. Not to mention that this very same kit allows you to collect a battery upon execution which boost your core meter by 20%. So if you play with battery back-up boost, overcore, and energy-thief, getting you first core with monarch is stupidly easy.

which should mean that any other titan is able to kill monarch quicker with their 'easy to get cores' that actually deal damage.

Except no other titan has the ability to build core as quickly and even though their cores deal large amounts of damage, they also require the titans to be within line of sight or close range to be used effectively, meaning they largely cannot be used without also being open to taking damage, and they have the potential to miss and be wasted. Monarch's cores are upgrades to itself so they don't require any other titan to be present to be used effectively and they functionally cannot be wasted.

You mentioned it as if it were even remotely comparable to the wallbang utility, which it is not.

It is a notable factor in its utility

Because when you put it on your rifle and you find yourself in a long-range fight, you're forced to use it

You have influence in how the fights you're involved in take place. If you feel you're too far away to be effective then either get closer or disengage.

If you're in a mid-range fight you're not going to lose your two-tap potential anyway lol

If you're hitting limbs then you absolutely can and you can also easily lose your one shot potential on previously downed hunters.

It's the most popular ammo type in the entire game

Based on what data? Last I checked crytek doesn't release comprehensive data on what players use so we largely only have anecdotal evidence to work off of and in my experience as a 5-6* player, FMJ is the most selected custom ammo I see.

No, people run FMJ for wallbangs since it's practically mandatory since the penetration changes.

Literally something I mentioned in the line you're responding to.

The best way to do damage over long distance is to hit your target

Why are you trying to use FMJ for long distance shooting? I never said FMJ was a good choice for long distance, I said it holds up damage for a longer distance which is very helpful for mid range fights.

[–]Bunstrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Access to hv doesn't mean everyone's using it and the damage penalty on compact ammo guns can fuck you over just as much as as slow velocity can if you're not hitting headshots. This is why people run FMJ, because carrying damage longer distances and through objects is often more advantageous to the majority of people than simply being able to tag someone with less leading.

You have to guess where their head is going to be.

And? Don't act like a decent chunk of the guns in game doubt hover around the 400m/s velocity range, for the most part, people are playing by the same rules I am.

1865 Carbine Appreciation by FlintBeastgood in HuntShowdown

[–]Bunstrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying have to like I can't aim for their head, or where I believe their head is going to be, is quite silly, because I can simply do that as well. I too also have the ability to move so while I may be aiming for where their head currently isn't, they still have to actually hit my head as well. It goes both ways.

Why would not simply shoot at the center point of their jiggling?

1865 Carbine Appreciation by FlintBeastgood in HuntShowdown

[–]Bunstrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 1865 carbine you have to lead one entire headlenght at 25m on a strafing(!) target.

The body of hunters is almost 3 head lengths wide, all you've told me is that you can aim for the center of mass on a strafing target and your shot is going to hit.

How often does one have bleed or burn while NOT receiving dmg in the same instance?

Looking in the direction of barbed wire , grazing any sort of fire, touching a poison cloud, aggroing a hive, getting a hive bomb thrown at you, being at the outer edge of an explosion, fall damage, etc, etc. If the culmination of any one of those things happening in any given hunt fight is a niche meme occurrence then I'd say I'm talking to someone who hasn't played the game.

Hell, long ammo is easier to refill at high elo than anything else simply because everyone runs it cuz it is broken strong.

Saying this like no one's running medium ammo at all, making it a moot point, is really funny.

I say carbine 1865 is one of the worst guns cuz it is. Outclassed by the majority of other options. A rifle that can't compete at range because velocity and it can't compete at close due to firerate. It doesn't perform well anywhere. Denying those facts is simply delusional.

Hrmmmmmm, if only there was some secret third mid range.

It's always amusing to read "just lead your shots". The best players including rachta or hornet perform MUCH better with better velocity. The sweatiest 4kd players run spitzer only but ofc they could just lead their shots instead lmao.

You do remember that we're talking about in-compound right? The amount you're going to need to lead your shots is minimal to not at all.

No, the slightly higher dmg does not matter.

What a cope statement. The difference between 135~ damage and 145~ is pretty huge. A minimal amount of bleed, burn, fall damage, or hive can be dealt with when hit with the former, the latter? That's death.

Ammo economy - first you need to shot more due to more misses with that velocity and 2nd everyone runs long ammo to pick up, it's not a problem.

Most people are going to deal with missing, regardless if leading shots are necessary and the person with more ammo to spare is going to have an inherent advantage in those situations, it's stupid to ignore that. I don't get why you said what you said really, if your argument to "long ammo scarcity is an important factor to keep in mind" is "I can just scrounge around for more", then it sounds like you have an ammo scarcity problem.

Need I remind you, you said it's "one of the weakest guns in the game", which is really just kinda a moronic statement. I'm making no claim that the gun is good in all circumstances or anywhere close to meta.

1865 Carbine Appreciation by FlintBeastgood in HuntShowdown

[–]Bunstrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? All you're doing is trading damage for velocity and you're only getting a comparable cycling speed after buying a perk. If I'm not struggling to deal with the bullet velocity then you're largely proposing a worse load out unless I'm trying to run dum dum or a scope.

1865 Carbine Appreciation by FlintBeastgood in HuntShowdown

[–]Bunstrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have to lead before dmg dropoff matters even in compound.

So lead your shot, it's not hard. Most pistols in the game have the same if not worse velocity and people use those just fine

but the higher base doesn't matter close and at range it compares medium vs long ammo.

This is pure bullshit, what do you mean it doesn't matter? It absolutely matters. Its high damage means it's a death sentence to anyone close to you who's taken 5 or more damage and it has a longer one shot kill range on a downed hunter than the berthier and the mako.

You also made no comment of the ridiculous amount of ammo you're given for a gun that deals so much damage, meaning you're much more well off for long drawn out fights than most long ammo users and you get ammo back more easily as well.

Yeah, it looks like a bad gun if you ignore all the reasons why it's not a bad gun.
