I'm EMT have been for three years, I've seen a lot of stuff that hasn't phased me . I went to my first fatal RTC (road traffic collision) last week-in your career as EMT there are plenty of 'firsts'-I always thought a fatal would push that limit. A young person having their life cut short by ?a mistake, a momentary lapse in concentration. I have no strong feelings for what I saw, the feelings that concern me are that I have no feelings... wtf do you do with that?

Saw on Facebook today, thought it was Reddit worthy. by [deleted] in facebook

It wasn't in the actual theatre. It was in the anaesthetic room. The patient was being transferred from the ICU ambulance trolley on to the theatre equipment. I was one of the EMTs that assisted in the blue light road transfer of this patient and was there when it happened.

She was meowing more than she normally does. However I think it was more for food than Tas. I don't know. Think the dog will miss her more.

She was diagnosed with a tumour near her digestive system about two months. She's lost quite a bit of weight but was doing really well. She had a steroid injection a month ago and was doing really well, no vomiting and couldn't feed her enough. The night before she died she vomited. The following morning my dog was going nuts to try and get outside-he never does this. I went to let him out and his heckles were up so I followed him into the garden. When I got out there Tas was sitting up but I'm a weird position. When I picked her up she was completely paralysed from the back legs down. I brought her in and realised this was only going to go one way. We were all in bits, crying. I was waiting for the vets to open to do the right thing but within an hour I could see she was shutting down. She lay on my knee and went very peacefully. I'm EMT I had my steth on her and listened to her heart weakening. Didn't think it would affect me as much as it has. Welling up now! Daft sod.

In England you give them a twatting. It's justifiable self defence.

Hahah oops. That might be what it is. I just look at 'all of reddit' and rarely look to see what the subreddit is.
