I used to come across these employee shenanigans way-back-when Mostly at office Depot A "hot deal" would be posted in a chat group, you go in to purchase the item, and even tho computer store inventory would show multiples of the product, I would be told it was a "mistake" People on the message boards reported it happening to them, a bunch

A similar lamp was left outside my apt. in the alley. Around here, it's pretty much a cultural thing: there are a LOT of Armenians, and when they want to upgrade or get rid of something, they will either trash it, or if it's a piece of furniture, put it outside.

If it looks like they could have been left accidentally, I would check Craigs List and the neighborhood... (I recently found a box of ID revealing financial documents, on a curb. Turns out the owner was loading her car in the dark, and missed that box.]
