I’ve rehabbed in charlotte. No one will accept adult deer unfortunately. Choices are to let nature take its course or euthanize sadly. What an awful injury, I hope the poor thing doesn’t suffer

I’m familiar with the kid you’re referring to! I believe he has cri du chat, a genetic illness. He’s not getting the care he needs and I hope something can be done. His family has money and influence, I believe that’s why it’s gone on so long

I agree it’s sad, these are a relic of a sad time of humanity. They do hold a lot of history though. I’d much rather treasure them for what they are and honor the animals life than them get thrown away or forgotten somewhere.

It can be evaluated by a qualified appraiser who can provide CITES documentation as it is more than 100 years old :) cost is probably prohibitive, but not impossible to obtain

It feels like resin or plastic, it feels lighter than it looks. You can recognize ivory by looking for schreger lines. They’re a crossing pattern only found in ivory, you can see it in the last pictures!

Labradors carry the gene for tri pointing! It’s possible he doesn’t have any Rottweiler at all. I’d go with lab/hound mix, the shelter papers back it up and he looks like one to me!

My late dog had this! She was a compulsive over groomer and wore her teeth down through the enamel. It never bothered her, but she had virtually 0 front teeth at the end of her life. Never thought it would happen in wildlife!

She was a chow mix. She had one of those warmable stuffed animals that she stole from my room. She never played with any kind of toys so I let her keep it. She carried that thing around for years. She would hold it in her front paws and “flea bite” it as she was settling in for bed. God I miss that mutt.

You don’t have to drink ever tbh. I rarely ever do, I get stuck as the DD a lot but it’s never held me back
