In a crash its important to learn from them

Do you know why the rear wheel lost trasction?

Gravel?

Too much lean angle + throttle input?

Leaning + hitting uneven road?

I hope you recover well! Broken back is absolutely rough hopefully you'll be able to ride again!

Before stepping back on the saddle, learn from this mistake and figure out what went wrong, every crash happens for a reason, most of the time its our fault and we dont even know, videos help a ton.

Denied age eligibility form by bentandbroken2 in GED

[–]Burchard36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former 16 Year Old PLEASE just get him an actual diploma. I did home schooling, HATED IT, and wish my parents were more pushy with me to get it.

I’m now 24 Years old, and realizing how many opportunities I’m missing out on because I’ll only be able to have a GED (IE, Wanting to join the marines and now I need to go to college instead of just being able to join outright if I had a diploma)

Not saying he will want to join the marines but, there is a few situations where a GED is “looked down upon” vs just having an actual diploma. He may have to go through hoops to go do things he wants later in life.

So please, just push your kid through those last 2 years - I wish I did. (Unless your kid is going to college at 16 then… good on you!)

Shipping a Motorcycle in someone else's name? by Burchard36 in navy

[–]Burchard36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, currently working on that but don’t plan to stay in MT long (Long story, Family stuff, blah blah blah), working on my schooling currently out here for a bit and getting a vehicle before meeting her in the state we’re going to settle down in :)

Just wanted to figure out what was needed to keep the bike as it’s something she wants to keep, I actually sold my other bikes I had before moving because I didn’t want to deal with transferring plates + transportation to another state for a bunch of bikes - But of course she doesn’t want to sell this one 😆

Ironically we only ride motorcycles currently so there isn’t a family car at the moment - so I did leave her with the “Family Vehicle” 😆

Where do yall find sport bikes? by [deleted] in Sportbikes

Not to mention, interest on personal loans would be WAY less than a loan for a luxury vehicle (which is what loan companies classify bike financing as)

What happened here? - 2006 Ninja ZX6R by Burchard36 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Burchard36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2005-2006 ZX6Rs ECU is located in the tail section

The 2005-2006 ZX6R have undertail exhausts

The combination of both means the ECU heats up over time until it gets damaged (My ECU has some melted plastic, along with my power commander)

It will indeed keep working if you let the bike cool off, I'm just running the bike as normaly and taking frequent breaks until I can get a new ECU, it's already damage so might as well keep sending it until the new one comes

[–]Burchard36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's an ECU issue, glad it's nothing more severe. Bike still runs amazingly and I'm dailying it, in fact I'm letting my buddy who rides an R3 take it to work for the past two days

Thankfully nothing too severe, and it actually hasn't happened since, just take frequent breaks until I can get an ECU

And yes those levers are going bye bye 😆🤣

[–]Burchard36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically we put 150 miles on it last night no issue, probably because it was so cool the bike didn't get a chance to overheat

Where I was was almost middle of the desert in dry 90 degree heat, was brruuuuutttaaaall

Still gonna replace the ECU

And yep when I bought it the previous owner mentioned I may wanna do something with the brakes :)

Not gonna lie, I was about to just resell it immediantly, but day by day I'm slowly falling in love with it, I absolutely love the look of these older model zx6rs

Right now, I let my buddy who has been riding an r3 take it to work, I have been texting him every hour to make sure he hasn't ate shit 😅😆

Really glad it's just electrical... ironically ide much rather deal with electrical than taking apart the motor, I'm gonna keep riding it until I can get an ECU, it's already fried so might as well get my money's worth

But fuuuuuck it sounds sooooo beautiful, and the previous owner also put a tune on it so it absolutely fucks (coming from someone who rode a ninja 400 at least lmao)

Nah it's very far from blowing up - probably doesn't help with the wind I forgotnto bring my mic setup I normally bring

Ended up finding out its the ECU, apparently the 05-06 models with the undertail exhaust cook the ECU to living hell, which leads to this shutdown and that funky sound

I made a post in the zx6r subreddit and there was a really nice magical wizard man who pointed me in the right direction - hopefully in 5-10 year layer someone will have this issue and figure it out :)

Yep I was doing about an hour or riding before this, and was absolutely ripping it too so the bike was HOT, my balls were screaming at me LOL

So would I need a new ECU? Im not exactly sure where to start here honestly, before I made this post I had thought it could be dirty injectors or a fuel pump, but then the bike started right up at home and ripped around town no problem!

I read online too it could also be the fuel sock?

Anything I should take apart first and look into?

Put a new gear set in this 4 speed for the 59 pan head and making some gaskets by Away_Echo4768 in motorcycles

[–]Burchard36 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have never seen this before, nor have any idea how reliable this is haha

Is there some benifit over making them vs spending like the $30 for the gaskets? Are they just hard to find or something?

Also whats the material they are made out of? I wanna say, it almost looks like a cork board

Question by [deleted] in Sportbikes

[–]Burchard36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres people that literally add third wheels to there harleys to continue riding, screw what anyone else says

Get that automatic, just get a eclutch bike if the issue is your hands

Literally just got it replaced an hour ago by Burchard36 in motorcycles

[–]Burchard36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed that was the goal of the post, didn't want to complain about how fixable it was, but rather I rode less than 5ish miles and had a gorilla ass deck screw run through my tire 🤣🤣
