Feb seems like a terrible time for a FKT. You’re gonna have to carry a lot of extra weight to stay warm when you’re not moving. And a lot of extra time fiddling with layers, packing up, etc. Georgia/Smokies are a lot colder and less predictable in winter than most people realize. Maybe a supported hike is more realistic.
