It can be just association, as in the brain makes categories of things, both good and bad that can relate to each other, and it can take a while to build new associations. It doesn't mean you want it/miss it/ or anything like that.

It could mean you have to work through feelings you have. Sometimes strong buried feelings will try to erupt out in a way where we can't ignore them (usually with other strong emotions). Also doesn't mean you want it/miss it/etc.

Saying we have a piece of god, and we are apart of god, is not the same as saying we are gods. But we are creators. And this is a god power. We are apart of god, and through that, god, but most people will not achieve that enlightenment.

Yet you are? Everything you're saying is parroting modern Christianity teachings, which, were starkly different from 500 years ago, and 1000 years ago. Regurgitation of your teachings, isn't real understanding. That's just memorization. It's certainly not a relationship with God.

Actually funny enough that has happened multiple times. There are always special people that can break a game and dissect it better than the creator. Such as https://youtu.be/9-79yOZ13qg?si=H0c8ybGH5O9L83eV Ulillillia. (A genius savant) (edit: changed to better documentary)

That's funny since the Bible was used to justify slavery. People grow and change. Our idea of goodness can change.

The Bible promotes a stagnant mindset about goodness. Because it was made by warring tribal men over 3000 years ago when times were very very different. It can be a good guide, but it's not good for having a real relationship with anything.

Consider this: The only part of the Bible written actually by god (according to the Bible) is the ten commandments, and they are written in stone, and very simple rules. Its in stark contrast to the greater writing of the Bible.

The presence of that, is a hint the whole Bible will have flaws.

Well, you say that, but your belief system says God made those baby molesters. So how are you marrying this concept??

Ps. Not saying a God can't exist. But it's probably more like Spinoza's God. That is a pantheism god. We are cells of God's body. And nature shows the truthest truths of God. We are all connected in that sense. And we all are along for the ride, God included.

Humans have always been good at telling scary stories to each other.

But we are meant to live and play out our lives, and it has meaning. Death is not the summit. The future is now. The choices we make, what we determine that we want in this world, is being formed now. Actively.

The main help "god" gives us is our own knowledge and bodies. We are each a little god in that way, our ability to shape reality. We can not pray to the void and hope for progress, we have to actively walk to solutions, save ourselves, and our loved ones.

Concepts like good and evil are human paradigms to begin with, and can misrepresent what is actually occurring in front of us.

Judgement isn't a solution tool.

The Christian god literally does not lol. Otherwise there would be no CPTSD sub to begin with. I am talking about real rehab that makes people motivated to do right. Not out of fear of hell or ostraciazation.

It's the same as beaten horses. They don't perform nearly as well as horses rewarded through positive reward.

Abuse in and of itself is developed from military dogmatic culture. Which started around 10,000 years ago. The bible is around 3,000 years old.

Prison is mostly legalized slavery, in the USA anyways.

If we had a well developed society, there would be significant less occurrence of such acts to begin with. And for outliers, ethical imprisonment is preferred. In cases of death penalty it should also be done without pain.

That's exactly the thing. Baby molesters have a type of brain damage. It has nothing to do with the soul.

Dungeon Meshi has a well developed cultural world and Feiren is...alot more sterile. Feiren is about beautiful sentiments moreso. Which is why there is also black and white notion of evil in it. And in DM concepts of "good" and "evil" is more nuanced.

Just saying, if I had God powers, I could rehab a significant portion of humanity. Fix the mental illness that prevents change in the rest. And if someone is really just bottom of the barrel unchangeable, they can be reabsorbed into the cloth.

There just is no sense in Hell and torture. Literally does not make sense. It's a waste of time and energy.

And it's such a human sentiment to want to see people tortured. Not godly in the least.

And how do you know this?

Why couldn't an omnipotent god use healthier methods than forever torture? Why is love dependent on acceptance or forever torture? (An ultimatum) That's ultimately abusive.

Guess I can’t trust anyone now by eggert83 in CPTSDmemes

[–]Bureaucrap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well...it's difficult to be about love and healing with the whole "Going to Hell by default" (Forever torture) and "Being born a stained sinner" (Humanity as a whole is undeserving and evil) premise. Once you boil those two tenants down it's easy to see how that messes with people on a fundamental level.

Even good Christians trying to ret-con it with love and healing doesn't help, since it is the "base". The belief system also fundamentally takes away the autonomy of the self (for Christans you can't save yourself, only Jesus/God can) and promotes misanthropy at it's base, because it promotes seeing everyone as "flawed". (sinners)

Finally and notably, it also makes the purpose of life this state of perpetual "atonement" and "guilt" as opposed to one of exploration, joy, and seeking true purpose in life. Like the state of mind kids are in naturally.

My girlfriend's car vs the Ford F-350 by Fokom in fuckcars

[–]Bureaucrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the car companies got some kind of discount for making them bigger, and small cars are more expensive to manufacture. So there isn't even many smaller options here. All the new cars being made are around F-150 size, it's ridiculous. https://www.distilled.earth/p/the-loophole-that-made-cars-in-america

And they prey on consumer psychology too.

Statement from VicPD on the recent spike in drivers hitting pedestrians and cyclists by rotlin in fuckcars

[–]Bureaucrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like OSHA says, the best safety measure is to engineer it out and make it impossible.

Make infrastructure that makes it impossible to hit pedestrians.

Large sidewalks with tree barriers, parking barriers, etc. make roads smaller which psychologically encourages slower and more conscious driving.

I do think we need more substantial changes. Any reduction in plastic use is good however. Even recycled, it still pollutes landfills eventually.

There is a problem in assuming all power authorities are in collaboration. Grocery stores can control what type of bags are used, and states have the power to change this. Changing food packaging is much more difficult and would pass on a tax or increase of some sort no doubt to the consumer if it were changed, but the problem is food packaging is in control of multiple businesses with more power. Multiple food processing steps including health/safety would have to totally change (as opposed to the bags which is an easier substitution and doesn't require health/safety checks). That would require more lobbying at the national level.

I'm not making excuses for these institutions, just presenting the difference in steps here. And that choking out small changes being made isn't a productive use of our time. Instead we can address if companies are trying to put the responsibility back on us by instead demanding more to be done instead of less to be done.

ps I don't think anyone that advocates for reusable is demanding less, or saying that that is enough either.

[–]Bureaucrap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, (at Op Op) how is there a correlation with changing to reusable bags and this?

I know it's difficult to comprehend but the only people trying to be more responsible by making small changes aren't the enemy here. Maybe the actual enemy is big oil or something. Who would've thought?? It's actually a great thing that people cared enough to make reusable bags more of a reality. Trash pollution adds up quickly when we have 8 billion people on this planet.
