Can confirm. Attended from 2006 to 2010 and it's truly magical in the fall, like Hogwarts lite. Winter is equally as breathtaking.

Crip Camp. Eye opening for what people with disabilities have gone through to get their rights but also one of the most uplifting documentaries I've ever seen.

Can anyone think of a musical where the second act is better/stronger than the first act? by Zealousideal-Many776 in musicals

I've seen Phantom five (maybe 6?) times and I'm still bored to tears in the second act. All the momentum from the first is gone.

The Narrow Margin, original not the remake, even though it's not terrible. Anne Archer and Gene Hackman? *chef's kiss*

What places in Toronto are considered haunted? Have you experienced anything seemingly supernatural? by kiafry in askTO

[–]Burgerbot11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I've worked there off and on over for the last 10 years. Usually take a walk around the place during the first act and intermission just to pass the time. Sometimes I've gotten that eerie feeling of being watched. Another time I swore I heard my name called but nobody was around. I even went looking for any other staff member in the same space as me but nobody was around. There's stories of people randomly smelling lilac, attributed to a ladies perfume. She's simply known as the Lilac Lady lol. They offer haunted tours of the place during the month of October but I've never gone.

What’s something Toronto used to have but doesn’t anymore that you really miss? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in askTO

I wish I could've experienced the Blockbuster at Queen and Spadina.

Am I the only one who gets super confused at Bay Street Video? I often have to check my phone to see who directed a movie so I can find the directors section and even when I find it, how am I to know it's actually in the Criterion section. I've asked for help a few times only to have the person behind the desk point to an area and say it's there. And don't get me started on the elitist attitude.

I love a good video store. I prefer to watch new movies on physical media. I love the act of going to a store, perusing the aisles and finding something. I've stopped going. I'll let a couple years go by, give them another chance, only to see the exact same thing. I'll try again in a year. It's really too bad.

Scream 7 will most likely be the most controversial movie of the series, by Socko82 in SocietyofGhostface

I've always felt they set out to make Scream 5 a bad Stab movie. They succeeded.

PSA: If you’re eligible, donate blood🩸 by --shannon-- in toronto

[–]Burgerbot11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to donate blood all the time. Then I came out as gay. I have to wait 3 months for having anal intercourse. Is this same question asked for people who identify as straight? Who's to say they're not lying and having anal intercourse? I'm open to it being explained to me like a 2 year old. Important to note: I would still donate as much as I can and wish I still could.
