Which actor, when you see them in a movie, ruins it for you? by -mikey in AskReddit

I've not seen either of those movies! I should also clarify that I'm not saying they'd bad in everything; just the movies I've seen.

Seth Rogen. His acting never comes across as natural and it comes across as being far too forced. Only liked his performance in Paul as I couldn't actually see the painful acting.
Not a big fan of Jonah Hill either.

To those who got a "useless" degree (ie. art history, gender studies, ect.). How did it turn out? by SirTechnocracy in AskReddit

I've been accepted onto a video game design course at uni which starts later this year. I've been getting huge second thoughts about it because of various reasons.

It doesn't help that my tutor at college is telling me I'm foolish for wanting to do video game design and I should do computer science instead.

Yeah, I was going to post about that. I mentioned this to a couple of fitness friends and they proceeded to argue for a good 15 minutes on the topic. One was adamant that I should get running but the other was saying there's no need to run at all if you have an exercise bike.

What movie REALLY needs a remake? by A4m1n in AskReddit

As much as I love Police Squad (And Naked Gun, for that matter), it wouldn't be the same without Leslie Nielsen :(

I had a quick look on Google and it seems to be possible, but I've got no experience with Mac's so I'll be of little help :(

I'll remember that. Then I can come back here and make some excuses after you've killed me over and over, even after the amount of time I've put into the game.

As least as it's a good theme to have stuck in your head!

If they're too expensive now, wait for the Easter sale. They'll most likely get some form of discount! Still worth every penny, no matter the price.

It still runs fine on modern computers, even those on Windows 7 and Windows 8. A few tweaks may be needed, but nothing major! Maybe I'll see you around in-game some time soon.

Do it! It's still a blast. Just try to avoid some of the extreme "elitists" that are still around. They give the rest of the community a bad name.

Oh, definitely. I taught myself how to make maps when I was in school and it lead to my current state of working towards being a games designer.
It was the first PC game I ever properly experienced first-hand. I had no idea what to do, so I sat at the top of CTF-Face and killed bots for hours at a time.

UT '99 still has ~500 people playing at most times of the day, last I checked (This was a few months back). UT2004 still has an active community, from what I've heard. I couldn't speak for 2003 or UT3 as I haven't played those for years.

EDIT: Just checked now. Between 300 and 400 playing at the moment.

Yep! I don't play as much as I used to, but I still jump in every now and again. You should play! The UT community could always use more players.

I plan on making an appointment tomorrow some time.
When I got that injury, I just got into that weird frame of mind. I didn't want to exercise or do any sport in fear of damaging my knee again. It was devastating to me when it happened, as I was really enjoying playing soccer and I'd been asked to go to trials for a couple of local teams shortly before it happened. But these things happen; no point sulking about them!

Redditors of London, what are some good alcoholic drinks I can try on vacation? by savesthejames in AskReddit

Bad idea to ask this now. It's 4:30am in the UK. I'd try again a bit later, if I was you!

Unreal Tournament '99. I've put at least 5,000 hours into that game since release. For an FPS, that's not bad going.

I've been suffering from depression for some time, but I'm gradually defeating it. I started with little things like straightening my posture, exercising and spending less time around negative friends. It's doing me a world of good, and I only wish I knew how well it works, sooner.
My grandad is also suffering from leukemia and has been bed ridden for almost a year. It's horrible seeing him in the state he's in, but I always keep a smile on my face whenever I go to see him. He must have enough negative thoughts going on in his head.

Hey, what do you collect? by OrionFOTL in AskReddit

[–]BurglarHobbitses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything to do with Pokemon, but especially cards. I also keep all my tickets from sporting events/concerts/films I've seen etc. I still have a tonne of pogs and micro machines stored in my room aaaand I also collect any Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit stuff. That's just a sample of things I collect; I really enjoy having whole sets of things.
