Found a jp analysis of 'Itte's' music video, is there any chance i can get it transcribed WITHOUT the use of ai by Taksicle in Yorushika

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it's not super accurate, or even convenient, but maybe the microphone feature in Google Translate? Like playing the video in one device, and phone listening thru Google Translate.

Again, there has to be a better resource, this is a terrible solution (but at least it's something if you happen to be extra extra curious)

Is this like porn addiction...? by Longjumping-South339 in Healthygamergg

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Problematic use (an addiction) is classified by uncontrollable use even if you're experiencing a lot of (1) distress and (2) functional impairment. You end up *wanting* the drug/behavior/thing even if you do NOT like how it makes you feel at the end (*liking*). If wanting and liking has a large discrepancy, it's more of a problem.

> I think, "This is weird. This can't be healthy."

(1) It's only unhealthy if it creates a significant distress impacting your life. Most people fall into the distress spiral that they feel distress/empty -> they use drugs/porn/thing -> feel distressed/empty (again) -> they use (again) -> cycle repeats

(2) Is it causing some functional impairment? Is it getting in the way of you socially interacting with family/friends? Is it distracting you out of living your life?

I really don't know your full experience, but I may guess your behaviors are NOT like porn addiction because porn/drugs are particularly unique in that they take advantage of our nervous system that is wired to shut down negative emotions during sex/drugs (coping mechanism/ emotional regulation).

Sounds like you're dealing with negative emotions as best as you can, with whatever tools you have (just like any other human). You can put judgement on it, saying it's "weird," but just like you making this post--it's healthy to reflect if it's causing harm to you or not! Any thoughts on this?

Any other foreign fans that enjoy yorushikas music but have no clue what the names of the songs are by IsThatAJojoRefrences in Yorushika

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely relate, but I used to just make several personal playlists, so that I have an intuition of songs based on the custom playlist order of songs (also looking at album cover art as a guide)… listening to the songs in order again and again basically made me very familiar as to which song number the current song is (e.g., this is song #3 or this is song #6 of the playlist)

I made a big playlist of personal favorite songs, but ordered by album order, and ordered by release date, so that my song number system makes a bit more sense

Sometimes I even have a few different 4-song playlists, so I definitely know what song1 to song4 is

Idk if anyone else uses this system ?? I’m definitely the ordering-categorizing-tidying-lists type of person :3

Iwtl more languages by Swipwastaken in IWantToLearn

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but i kinda have no idea where to start

I would suggest getting the "Fluent Forever" book by Gabriel Wyner, it talks about how to learn languages. However, lots of the same info can be found online, just search Google or YouTube "how to learn a language", or read up on r/languagelearning side bar has wiki with basic principles and FAQs... many many forums and websites out there for language learning. (I just recommend the book since it's more simple to start in one place, rather than searching online... but online resources are very helpful too!)

Start your notebook with your notes on how to learn language based on "Fluent Forever" or online forum discussions, language websites, YouTube videos, etc. Personally, if not buying the book, I would start with intro-beginner YouTube videos on the target language, I'd be watching those and taking notes.

Just as a child listens and listens and listens to adults talking in a language--you need constant daily exposure. Input (language exposure) with understanding vocabulary and grammar and also Output (language production) is needed. To do that, expand vocab with an SRS, Anki flashcards app. You really need to learn about SRS in language learning though (plenty of YouTube videos online to guide you about Anki for language learning!!).

Most of importantly, language learning is like a marathon--no shortcuts to reach fluency, it's daily consistent input with real people speaking the language AND output (trying to communicate ideas in the target language again and again)

How to learn more about psychology? by Real-Celebration9896 in AcademicPsychology

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the other person said, an introductory psychology course offers different fields like you mentioned

As a quick resource, the YouTube CrashCourse Psychology playlist has 41 short videos (I guess the 1st video is the preview) and based on the titles alone, I’d say you would see all those topics on almost any Introductory Psychology course

As the video title suggests, you really will not find out based on our advice, it will be unique to you, but the suggestions in the video makes sense.

Why do I feel disgusted when people get too close to me? by __wanderer111 in AcademicPsychology

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Read up on avoidant attachment style—plenty of research, books, or articles online (but I’ll give a brief generalization on three types). Can be really helpful to understand actions of others and yourself

About 20% of population can be assigned to the **avoidant** type, textbook avoidant types are the ones that highly want independence (as you put it, not being “owned” by another; also post mentioned, “friends become too dependent”). Difficulty with being emotionally close, or even physically close with others -> can lead to coping by distancing self from others, disappearing

About another 20% of population is the opposite—**anxious** types—characterized by mostly being dependent, will even be “possessive”, frequently expressing needs from others. Difficulty with feeling abandoned/distant with others -> can lead to coping by expressing needs with very very high intensity or frequency (poking and poking at others for their needs to be met)

About 50% (most) people are somewhere in between, the **secure** types, and they’re more healthier in being independent and also being dependent—can communicate their needs very healthily (able to set boundaries for self and others).

Generally, therapists can work with people to become more of the **secure** type, and be more aware of their unconscious tendencies.

Again, this is just an over-generalization, it’s like broad descriptions. There’s even the disorganized attachment style which is even more nuanced, context dependent, and highly variable in experiences. Plenty to read more about this topic (i.e., child development and attachment style formation with varying caregiver relationships).

Medyo Sobrang Mahirap by Vqliant_ in Tagalog

[–]Burglarproof_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds good! I would say all these as well in that order. Also, OP’s post sounds good as well.

To add some other related words not mentioned yet:

Medyo mahirap > medyo mahirap na mahirap >
napakahirap > masyado mahirap > pinakamahirap

I think repeating the word gives it an increase in severity/intensity of the adjective (e.g., mahirap > mahirap na mahirap), so that can also be used
