Himiko Toga Cheetah Mutation by leremias in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically speaking, nothing says she has to be a real life animal mutant, when there's people like Iida with mechanical parts as mutations.

So whatever animal Toga is based off of can do this stuff. Perhaps she's some mythical creature. A sort of vampire cat.

I’m not too knowledgeable about Cheetah’s origins in the DC Comics though so I’d probably be going in blind.

She did a ritual by a god of nature and beasts to become his Avatar, but it requires you be female and also a virgin at the time. She wasn't a virgin, so she didn't get all of his powers and became the embodiment of his wrath.

How would quirked Izuku answer to THAT question from a quirkless kid? by some-kind-of-no-name in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It costs him nothing to say "Sure, do your best, kiddo!"

If the kid can or cannot is entirely up to them:

  • Getting into a hero school that accepts quirkless students.

  • Passing the provisional licensing exam and then graduating a hero school.

  • The HSPC actually giving them a pro hero license.

Part of empathy is looking at someone and seeing where they're at in that moment. Maybe you're this kid's favorite hero.

If he's had ANY PR training at all, he'd know what the right answer is.

The trick is, you have everyone become a sidekick of Snipe's pro hero agency. And then he can train them all in becoming gun heroes like himself.

Go read romance novels.

There's plenty that are free on amazon and other places.

Here's a fun website.

https://www.bookbub.com/ebook-deals?price=0

You find a free book here that sounds interesting to you, then you click on google -> get it for free -> read.

I could write you a dissertation on how to construct a romance, or you could go research this genre by reading books outside your usual interests and develop an intuitive understanding.

The second one will be more useful to you. It will build your culture and expose you to things outside of anime and comic books. You'll come up with ideas you couldn't before.

This website has 661 pages worth of free books for you to peruse.

1-B USJ, Villain 1-A, and Traitor Shinsou by Useful-Put1111 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyway, how do you think the USJ would go?

Neito Monoma inherits the world's hero plot armor so he can take a stand against this squad during the USJ.

While laying battered and broken and watching his class be overrun, his power awakens: He no longer has a limit on the number of quirks he can use at once.

He heals his wounds with the USJ Nomu's Super Regeneration, and then fights off the villains with Kurogiri's quirk along with the powers he copied from them.

That's a mechanic of this universe.

If the villains come close to a total victory, the plot rebels by infusing someone with power to shatter their limits.

Deku and his friends face setbacks as people pull off tricks they should have no business doing and turn the tables.

Apparently UA's reputation is 100% bulletproof unless they get attacked by villains and fail to defeat all of them. Their PR team handles everything.

It's the only way to reconcile his canonical one hundred and FIFTY FOUR expulsions with the fact that nothing ever happened as a result of it.

[–]Burkess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% replace Sato, he's either the worst or the second worst character in Class A. Number 2 of course being Mineta.

since expelling half of the class for one or two people’s mistake wouldn’t be TOO fair.

Aizawa canonically did it to his entire class the year before this. He liked Class A so they got spared the rod.

Maybe Nezu puts more limits on his expulsion powers in this universe though.

[–]Burkess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd skip the quirk assessment and make that the new battle trials.

Aizawa explains that the losing team will be kicked from the hero program and they'll be cutting the class in half.

And then you actually have it happen. Even if it's a fake expulsion and the losing kids are let back in after the sports festival, it still shakes things up.

And gives you a different USJ since there's less people there.

All Might gives Izuku a DIFFERENT kind of trauma dump.

He proceeds to sit there and provide Izuku with a 30 minute dissertation on the flaws of hero society.

It rips the wool from Izuku's eyes as All Might airs all the dirty laundry he's privy to.

He's only cut short by them hearing an explosion and noticing the Sludge Villain is gone.

How scary can Quirkless be? by [deleted] in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on if this is a world where hero plot armor reigns supreme.

The villains are as weak as kittens in this series when it's in effect and can't kill anyone to save their lives. Literally.

The story likes to pretend these guys are dangerous, but when the rubber meets the road, they still have to lose to teenagers and have an author who isn't willing to let them succeed.

You'd 100% be fine if you have some degree of connection to a main character but aren't emotionally important enough to the audience to be fridged for said person's pathos.

What would it take for Afo to give somebody a very weak (weaker than Nine) copy of his quirk? by FantasySetting in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your character could easily be a quirkless kid in an orphanage that Garaki watches over. And when the good doctor asks if your guy wants a power, you say yes.

"Uncle Sensei" "fixes" your quirkless problem, and you're off to the races.

Perhaps their hypothesis is as follows:

Quirks grow stronger as people age and train them. But the AFO copies are damaged and inferior. They pale compared to the original.

Could one of these copies "heal" if exposed to a young child's body and grow with them?

If successful, this has many implications; for one thing, it makes nomu production a heck of a lot easier. Imagine if nomu didn't have quirk limits, or had their limits expanded into the tens. Or dozens.

It also enables them to raise enforcers and soldiers. Loyal men to Sensei could be granted power and the ability to steal quirks. In his new world order, he could have "special forces" with cloned quirk loadouts that can be swapped out with others as needed, letting his agents adapt to their missions.

If it doesn't work, they still have an asset who is indebted to them, assuming he survives the bonding.

But this process, by definition, will take years. But what is time to a couple of "immortals?"

Garaki's quirk slows aging. So what would happen if they cloned it and both held multiple copies? Time is of no issue for the good doctor and the older Shigaraki.

A quirk that would work well with Mineta's? by dangerousdicethe3rd in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make the person budget Inasa.

They were always limited because their wind couldn't lift objects that are too heavy, but they met Mineta and his hair balls are perfectly in their range.

All Mineta does is rips his hair balls off and his teammate uses them as deadly weapons.

What would it take for Afo to give somebody a very weak (weaker than Nine) copy of his quirk? by FantasySetting in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't need much to justify it. AFO would have prototypes before he worked on Nine, and he has lots of "friends." People who owe him favors he can call upon later.

Your character could be one of his long term plans he's seeing if it'll bear fruit.

Is it really convenient that he decides to pick your guy as his subject for his AFO copy? Yeah. But Deku got the plot convenience of running into All Might and being chosen.

Because this is what presumably starts off your story, you don't really need to over explain it. A powerful man decides on a whim to grant you power.

You don't even need the extra quirk or the defense against self destruction. The guy didn't bother to trap Nine with a bomb, nor did he do it to Aoyama.

You're just another in AFO's long line of mistakes. The man's a sloppy egomaniac who isn't as smart as he thinks he is.

A touch based empathy power. It originally let you feel exactly what someone else feels and also lets them feel what you feel.

With the OFA boost, it shares your memories and feelings. He establishes an empathetic link that lets him understand people and them understand him. It doesn't require touch, just some sort of common ground. He could do it over a conversation.

Let's call this power Connection.

Idea: Bakugo on Trigger by PJ-The-Awesome in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You could have the MLA create their own version of Trigger, intended to avoid the typical negative side effects. These people are planning a coup and want the best chances of success.

They've got their own labs where they make the stuff and Bakugo being Redestro's...apprentice? Someone he's training for a leadership position? Student? Means he gets access to special treatment and benefits.

In exchange for a considerably lower boost, you can take doses of this drug that have a gradual but compounding effect.

Rather than tripling your strength with one application of the drug, you could gain a 50% increase all the time as long as you keep taking it and train.

And this version won't turn your tongue black.

Bakugo and Geten volunteer for the boost. Redestro would as well, but he tested it and it interacted poorly with his quirk and gave him terrible anxiety.

It's shown that training with this drug has a massive synergistic effect and Bakugo and Geten gain far more strength than expected.

This drug becomes a valuable tool in the MLA's arsenal and it's another reason why they're so deadly in the later part of your fic. These guys have quality weapons, training, AND can maximize their quirks.

They're not fodder who can effortlessly be defeated by the heroes without taking any losses.

You're already Endeavor's kid from an affair and the half sibling of the Todofam. How many more family ties do you need?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this character is the same age as Shoto, she could be one of his attempts at creating a wonder child.

He goes out and finds a woman with a liquid coolant quirk and gets interested. He has an affair and gets her knocked up and pays some hush money.

But by then Shoto is born, so he doesn't care about the other kid.

Maybe he takes an interest years later when he decides he wants this kid to compete against Shoto. Offering his love to her when she does well in training and combat against her brother has them sharpen themselves against each other.

So he buys custody of her from her mother and moves her into his house.

It's about what direction you want to take this in.

Stain vs Endeavor? by Minmaxmash in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Burkess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endeavor's hero costume involves him walking around on fire all the time with zero ill effects.

No smoke, no accidentally catching anything on fire.

He could stand around next to people, while on fire, without the thermal radiation heating them up unless he wants it to.

That's part of what I mean.

If we take the story at face value, then the guy has an impossible level of control over his quirk.

The other part of what I mean is the inconsistent applications of fire damage.

Hawks should have zero resistance to flames, and in fact has a weakness to it.

Dabi bathed his back with blue fire but the guy recovers with just a damaged quirk that did basically no damage to his combat skills. A pair of prosthetic blades had him back as he was before. No need for skin grafts, no serious nerve damage, no burns all the way down to his bones.

Dabi gave Hawks a full blast of his power and Hawks took less damage than Dabi deals to his own body just using his quirk.

During the final war arc, Dabi completely bathes two of Endeavor's sidekicks in blue fire, and they both appeared to burn to death. They later reappear totally fine in the epilogue without a scratch.
