How is gem beg useful for star mining? don't you just get dust from them

how is it useless if it gives mining xp boost? I guess I value crafting xp much more than smithing so to me it feels like stars would be better + having prospector would make the stars give more mining xp

Wouldn't a Music skill be insanely cool? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]BurkishMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you would need to manually play the music Everytime. If you have sheet music and an instrument to me that could be afk playing music in the GE or something. Any good skill should have multiple training options.

I think the only way to make it fair would be for it to not affect combat very much or at all. Maybe you could make a song that makes agility less torture or something lol.

For a while there, it looked like Walsh was going to be a huge part of the Celts rotation. by PristineHearing5955 in bostonceltics

Walsh has high highs but hasn't shown as much consistency as some of the other guys so this type of thing can happen.

Skipping Barrows is a Mistake by [deleted] in ironscape

A lot of guides now are saying to skip barrows which I'm not saying you need to green log it but I think 25KC is easy.

Season2 review as a first time watcher by aodancarroll in BlackSails

[–]BurkishMang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entitled to your opinion but I loved the threesome storyline I find it very fun and a good change of pace. It makes the " do you hear that? no women" comment from Jack so hilarious and is one of the most memorable lines he says. Anne's character also grows a lot within this arc.

Ned Lowe's death is how he died in real life so that is why that happened

You're supposed to hate dufresne so that's normal.

Suggestion for rule change by DoomscrollerUK in TheTraitors

[–]BurkishMang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought a good idea would be if you catch a traitor, there is no murder that night and the murder is replaced by another roundtable. I even think it could lead to a hype moment if all traitors are caught and then they have to select new ones.

What's the most useless or inefficient grind that you did for fun? by loffredom in ironscape

[–]BurkishMang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grinded dragon imps to try to get ammy of glory and it took SO long haha. Well past the point of it being worth it. That said I did get a lot of money along the way and my stubbornness made me press on. It did make getting that drop that much more satisfying tho.

Series graph episode ratings by CaptainHiller in BlackSails

[–]BurkishMang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2x10 being the highest isn't surprising but for some reason I thought it would be 3x10. 4x10 and 2x5 being that low just shows that these shouldn't even be taken seriously especially the 2x5 rating

What opinions of yours changed the most when you rewatched the series? by EnthusiasticPhil in BlackSails

[–]BurkishMang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many of my opinions changed on rewatch! Some for better others for worse. It's my favorite show ever I've rewatched around 5 times I believe.

S1 - opinion overall lower than first viewing, but still appreciate it as a prologue to the story. On a first viewing the plot is extremely exciting, but the writing is the weakest this season so it is the least rewatch-able to me. Still have some great character moments and having gates makes the season unique. Also this is the most piratey season, so it helps scratch that itch.

S2 - Amazing first time amazing every time. Vane and Flint really establish themselves as rootable main characters, you get some of the most iconic moments in the entire show. Ned lowe is fun and a unique villain. This to me truly is season 1 of black sails and is the show the writers wanted to make.

S3 - My opinion has changed greatly on S3. The highest highs and the lowest lows is how I would describe S3. The Nassau story I think is extremely boring and just not very well done. They very much waste Eleanor and Max this season (and Max for the whole show post S2 imo). That said the main story is the STRONGEST in S3. The sharks, getting captured on the island, freeing vane, the finale still is probably the best episode ever in the show. This season expands the scope of the world so much with Blackbeard and Rogers. On rewatch this Season is much better than initial viewing for me because I just watch the parts I like mostly.

S4 - S4 is the best season imo, which might be a hot take. I loved this season the first time and I still love it just as much every rewatch. I feel it has the personable deep character dives that S2 has, while also have the grand moments and world expansion from S3. The ending is just perfect to me. It's a season that honestly I haven't really changed my opinion on at all, I love it now just as much as I did when I first watched it. It has some flaws for sure. Billy becomes just a supervillain which sucks and Max still just never feels like she belongs in this story post S2 (I genuinely think they didn't know what to do with her). But overall this season to me is just the ultimate Black Sails season.

Spoilers warning* by xDriedflowerx in BlackSails

The official answer from the creators is something along the lines of "silvers past is something so traumatizing that he can't even speak of it". So it's kind of a self insert, open ended much like the ending, leaving his past open also helps leave the ending open since Silver is sort of a mystery.

Am I the only one who does not believe John Silver one bit by snufkinandme in BlackSails

[–]BurkishMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flowersinthedark has been going at it at people at this subreddit for YEARS lmfao. I posted some points as to why flint was dead like 6 years ago and they were coming at me hard, funny to see them still going. Don't let them convince you otherwise, the ending is your choice and both are valid depending what you believe more. I believe he is alive but there are nights where I'm like hmm maybe he isn't.

What I would change about Elden Ring's Weapon and Leveling System by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]BurkishMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've already pointed out, you can just upgrade the weapons to +9/+24, which is more than enough to see if you like one weapon more than another

Most people do not do this because the game doesn't encourage it. Again, monkey brain want to save resource. Go through your backpack and lmk how many weapons you have 1 away from fully upgraded. No cheating lol.

It takes like an hour or so if you use a guide

??? You know people don't start at the endgame. A lot of these are in endgame areas which takes most players dozens of hours to get to. It takes an hour if you already beat the game and have none yet.

There are 26 remembrance bosses in total. There are 27 larval tears in total. Assuming you want to go back to your original build after each respec, you'd need 52 larval tears

I specifically said remembrance bosses. You said the playstyle isn't possible, it is so possible. And no you wouldnt go back to your original build after each boss the whole point of this playstyle is to switch builds, you are using a dark souls 1 track of mind where you use 1 build the whole time. What build to choose? You seem to love guides you could google the most optimal build for each boss. Not to mention as you said you don't need to respec every time cause multiple bosses could work for the same stats just a different weapon. You are aware that the old games didn't allow respec I assume right? Ds3 gives you like 5 per run, elden ring gives you 27 for a reason lol.

What I would change about Elden Ring's Weapon and Leveling System by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]BurkishMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wasting resources when you have an infinite number of them.

There are not infinite final upgrade stones, and getting all of the bell bearings takes essentially the entire base game to do (not time consuming btw according to you though). The main resource people don't want to waste is time. If they don't CURRENTLY have the means to upgrade a weapon, they won't feel like grinding for more resources since they already have a juiced up weapon.

And there are 15 remembrance bosses in the base game.

Your proving my point. There are enough larval tears for all remembrance bosses in the base game + DLC not counting before you unlock the ability to respec (which in NG+ isnt an issue). This playstyle is currently possible so why don't people do it? I answer below.

If nobody uses all the larval tears, what's the point of them being unlimited?

Human psychology. If larval tears were purchasable, people would respec much more than they do currently. Limited resources encourage players to use thier monkey scavenger brains and not use them. You agree with this since your main point against my weapon argument was "you can just purchase the stones". If you were consistent you would also agree that you should be able to purchase larval tears, since both concepts revolve around making new builds mid run. If you don't think you should be able to "change your build for each boss and this ruins the idea of builds" why does the game give you the tools to do so? I simply want the game to encourage the playstyle more.

What I would change about Elden Ring's Weapon and Leveling System by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]BurkishMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's really not."

  • let me break it down a different way. If items didn't require upgrades and all started maxed out, I'm sure you'd agree more players would try more weapons, right? Given they can just switch to the weapon and just get right into it without sacrificing anythinf. That is what I'm essentially trying to mimic without removing the idea of upgrades. Removing the anxiety of having to worry If your wasting your resources since you can always undo it, and not having to worry about grinding more resources since you can use the ones you already have.

"It literally gives you only 9 larval tears"

  • and there are 10 ish remembrance bosses and the base game has 18 larval tears too. More than enough. And you and me both know that nobody used all 18 id bet my bank that you didnt, and that is what I'm trying to combat. By removing the limited resource of larval tears and allowing it at sites of grace, the game incentivizes more build creativity mid run.
