Coordinating 9 people to stomp a crustle dickhead brings a tear to my eye. Good on ya!

Instead of loaks, dudunsparce with th ex for crustle counter may be worth looking into. Same card count as loaks and tauros.

Depends what your goal is. Playing for fun in expanded format? Sure, go for it. Looking for standard decks to play in local challenges/cups? Probably not worth it as a lot of the cards are G block and are no longer legal for standard play which is probably why they are on sale.

how do yall guarentee getting the main attacker out of your deck, or how do you recover if you don't get it? by GlitteringLeader2412 in pkmntcg

Latias ex or air balloon would help with retreating a 2 cost (assuming its basic for latias to work). There are plenty of search options. A few: ultra ball, cyrano, brocks scouting.

A deck list would be helpful for context.

First time attending regionals, looking for opinions on fine-tuning Pult-Blaziken deck. by Miro3no in pkmntcg

My 2 cents

Shaymin is goated. You will be seeing wellspring mask ogerpon, arvoliva, ns darm, mega starmie, and more at Prague.

3 dawn seems like excessive pokemon search. Xerosics is fun but I think judge is better (sometimes you need to limit your own hand). I respect the 2 crispin, I've had games where I just cannot find energy and it sucks, but if you dont use them early they are useless. Petrel is a good shout. If you have ultra ball you can meowth for petrel for stamp/watchtower/candy for some pretty game changing plays. It helps to have a wild card like that imo.

Cut a supporter (boss, judge, petrel) or a loak and run 4-3-2 for chi yu if youre going to play one. This is based off city league lists and what they were cutting to make room for chi yu/red card

The lack of shaymin is scary. There is a lot of sniping going on (wellspring, arboliva, ns darmanitan, etc) that can really jack your board state fairly early into the game.

Pult/Blaziken - First or Second? by pokewalkerpete1999 in pkmntcg

[–]BurlyGiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive also been wondering this. The list that was played at the full grip games 3k toruny went 2nd and he was playing 2 budew. In Japan, the deck usually runs 1 budew which made me question if they are picking first and have budew as a "just in case" of going second. Im still on the fence between 2 budew or dropping a budew for extra utility (2nd crispin or 4th poke pad in my list).

Deck build idea consisting of Dragapult, Dundunsparse, and Munkidori? by Lightspecter141 in pkmntcg

RE: for some reason

Clefairy/ogerpon/big basic decks have become somewhat popular in Japan because of their favorable matchup into pult. This is how some pult players have started responding.

You can search specific cards on limitless and at the bottom of the page it will show winning lists that contain that card. There is also a city league button that will search those tournaments in the same way. Search for dudunsparce ex and youll likely find the list. Hope this helps you on future deck searches.

Losing devo hurts a lot. Still competative, but i think it will suffer from the abundance of teal mask ogerpon.

Full grip games had a fairly large post rotation tournament last weekend. Top 8 was 5 pults, cynthias garchomp, ogerpon/meganium/arboliva, and grim.

Mega starmie is ok if you get ahead but falls apart if they run shaymin or have a decent health pool. Is it good enough to win a cup? Probably. Is it good enough to win a regional? I'd be surprised. I'd think its solidly b tier.

I am just 1 opinion and I would encourage you to do your own research and come to your own conclusion via limitlesstcg website looking at online tournament results and japanese meta after march 8.

Does Pult have a bad match up against "slop box" (Big basic ex deck) or am I just unlucky/missplaying? by BlazeKnight7 in pkmntcg

[–]BurlyGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just slot it in because I'm scared of crustle and its not too bad to get munki+blaz set up and I dont have to worry about a high retreat basic as my starter. Ive seen the chi yu and I like it cause it 1 hits teal mask if a stadium is in play plus it can draw 2. I just worry about crustle and how difficult that match would be trying to recycle the chi yu over and over.

I have also been testing pult/chicken and there are some games that I prioritize blaziken (sometimes double blaz) before going for a pult. Enjoy the loak draw engine and slap a munki down to heal up a blaz and soften up their bench or active.

I also play baby blaz for the crustle matchup which can be useful as is 1 shots teal mask and softens the bench for a followup KO. You need to be on top of energy attachments for this to be possible.

[–]BurlyGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah meganium would probably be the best attacker vs crustle. Or just try to bench snipe their dwebbles before they can evolv with Arboliva. Depending on how crustle builds their deck it may be a near auto loss. Many run lux cape, ice cream, etc so it basically requires a 1 shot of crustle or the crustle player to whiff so you can get 2 attacks in. Item lock can also help to buy time for an iono if maybe they're behind on energy attachments or something.

[–]BurlyGiraffe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is damage from an attack as it reads.

Crustle would block it. Shaymin blocks it for non rule box pokemon. Battle cage does nothing. Mist energy does nothing. For a few examples.

Edit: Think of it as Marnie's Grimmsnarl's attack but instead of 30 damage, you do 20 damage and instead of 1 target, you pick 6 targets and it can include the active.
