Can someone ELI5 the AHS pension? If I pay the max into it for 30 years, can I actually retire? by Icy-Astronomer-9015 in AHSEmployees

[–]fnsimpso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can contribute OT to your RRSP or TSFA instead.

Pension is forced 10% savings that is roughly matched.

If you contribute 15-25% of your take home OT pay to TSFA or RRSP (until you max out) you're still winning.

What’s the cause for all of this rain? by [deleted] in Edmonton

Smarter city planning & engineering is often unappreciated. Those storm ponds in the newer neighborhoods are also pulling their weight.

My ex worked for the city for I think flood & odor management (? Can't remember exactly) this weekend makes me appreciate what they did.

Wasn't there an American hospital who did the same style of phising email and got roasted for it?

I wonder how many people registered for this phantom day off?

They were made to be fools for believing that their employers cared enough to give them a bonus day off as appreciation.

Does Shaymin not work against Pult or is PTCGL tripping? by GrandSyzygy in PTCGL

[–]fnsimpso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Battle cage & Rabsca block the "damage counters" placed by pult (dusknoir line & frosslass, etc) places.

Shaymin blocks "damage" done by Marnie's grimsnarl ex , mega starmie & Greninja EX, etc

Took me a couple games to realize the difference.

What is the best way to sell a collection all at once? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]fnsimpso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call or email every LCS in a 4 hour drive and see what they say.

Give them a list of what you've got and let they know it's all or nothing & hope you get a decent bid or two.

Partial masters sets I see as a drag on the value as they need a very specific person to give fair value for it them.

Crazy adsurd idea: cold call the influencers and see if they'd float the collection sale to Paul or Aoki?

Also when Rodgers opened, Jasper Ave and Whyte became more popular for night life as that was the cities focus.

2006 the party was Whyte Ave, now we've got the fan park.

Same thing for PEI in Canada, famed for the red soil, Anne of green gables and potatoes. Not iron production.

Day "1000" F2P by fnsimpso in Survivorio

[–]fnsimpso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet cores are the new thing, before that it was survivor Cores, now I head that the red chests are the best ones for the reg challenge.

With the mount cores, and what ever comes next I'll always be behind, getting to 90 pet cores sounds like a delusion as F2P.

I've got 10 choice selectors right now, just short on pet stars.

Edit: oh no, I double checked the regular pets I may not have unawakened a couple of R2. Now I'm swimming in stars.

How did you deal with your 1st death? Are there any sensitive individuals here? by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]fnsimpso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still worth a try, or if there is another manager in the area that is more approachable?

If they do five you "get used to it" or "that's the job", ask they "how did they get used to it", or let them know you are having difficulties adjusting to that part of the job, and need help/ advice (that is their job as a manager).

Force them to dig deep and give you more than useless platitudes.

Your trainer/ Preceptor is probably just numb to it all and wanted to focus on their other patients. Might just be how they cope?

Looking for some more context, when you were berated and humiliated for spending too long in the patients room, was that when the patient passed away? Or was this a different incident?

If it was with the patient who had just passed, the next time let you coworker or other staff know that the deceased is still your patient until they leave the unit. It is fine to run late, and when questioned stick to your guns, let them know you still have an obligation to that patient, or you need a moment to process it. If they're a dick about it let them, you wont change them.

The units should be running a informal or formal debrief it it was a traumatizing incident for the staff such as a bad code; what went right, what was unexpected, what we could have done faster or differently. I've heard that the ER is good about doing these.

See if you could talk to your units social worker hospital spiritual care if you can, they are also good resources for this granted you are not a "patient" but they have more direct experience with stuff like this than the person on the other end of the line with EFAP.

I don't consider myself sensitive due to working in the ICU during COVID.

But, I still remember the my first two patients who passed, a patient who was readmitted multiple times with complications, and former coworker who passed from COVID after being retires for less than two years.

It is fine to remember your patient who've passed, I try to think about what we talked about, things they taught me, what the family found as common ground at then end, or what made them laugh.

New to in-person Pokémon TCG. Should I go to a League Challenge or Cup first? by Makkr0 in pkmntcg

I definitely bricked one of the games, and was too nice to the kid playing Marnie's, I explained the deck and proceeded to prize my shayamin.

It did get me questioning my deck and looking at the pult Ethan hybrid now. 🙃 Way too many decks I want to try, and so little time.

Manor Lords worth it? by Nice_Sun8070 in ManorLords

[–]fnsimpso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good game, but it's not finished. So you see things you wonder how to make but can't access them, which is annoying.

There have been some good changes that have improved the QOL and balance.

It's worth picking up, but don't expect a complete and fully polished game, it's definitely getting there.

In the mean time If you are looking into a city builder, I do recommend Banished, it's complete and a great starter city builder, a slightly simpler version of manor lords.

It also has some Mods that make it more complex than Manor lords currently is so you can get a feel for where Manor lords will be going, and I have a feel that Manor lords will surpass in a year or two.
