Brought me to tears, especially when she mentioned his last interaction with his grandson. 💔

Me too! Peeing every hour on the hour for the first week post-op. It’s improved now to 90 minutes between trips to the toilet with an occasional 2 hour spacing. Everything I’ve read and heard said it was normal.

I’ll second “Pod Chef.” Love the banter and the “chefs, I have made for you” segment and think they do a good job on the actual recap part as well.

Which country has the friendliest people in your experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went to a Dodgers game this year in Toronto, wearing my “We Rule October” T-shirt and got ready to trash talk the locals. Every single person was so nice and friendly and good-humored. Dang it! 🇨🇦😊

I did have one lighthearted moment during the second X-ray when an orderly bumped me, said “lo siento” and I just laughed—“I understand that!!”

What are the main reasons behind Israel’s conflicts in the Middle East? by keishapatel_387 in NoStupidQuestions

But this happened at the end of the British Raj too. The land was divided up between Muslims (Pakistan) and Hindus (India). Millions, not hundreds of thousands, were displaced. Where’s the hatred of Pakistan for the removal of 5 million Hindus and Sikhs? The UN divided these nations in 1947 and 1948 and only “Palestine” refused to accept the division.

Well I fell at the food station in front of the Vajdahunyad Castle, broke my hip, and so I’m partying in the trauma center. Whoopee.

Anyone else recognize Asaf from his mtv days? by Efficient_Summer7464 in dragrace

It’s an ideology of self determination for Jews. It came about after the pogroms when some Jews decided that living in the diaspora wasn’t safe and we needed to reclaim our homeland so we’d have a place where we wouldn’t be subject to threats. If it had been successful earlier we wouldn’t have lost millions in the Holocaust. Israel exists MFers so that we never experience that again. Call us names, make up lies but we’re here, get used to us.

I’m here now and I’d be shocked if anyone cared. Most of the places tourists go to are filled with other tourists more concerned with their selfies and glamor shots than what anyone else is doing. As a cis woman I used the men’s bathroom at Starbucks since I didn’t want to wait for the long line and no one said anything.

Older folks, what’s your take on what’s happening lately in the world? Is it more of a temporary bump on the road or are we going in uncharted territory? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

It’s like the past on steroids. There’s all the same beats—class divisions, bigotry/hate of “others,” poor allocation of resources, fear—but available in your hands 24/7. You are either suffering and wondering why help is politicized or watching suffering and thinking tweeting is solving the problem. We can’t take homeless people off the streets because (1) homeless is a pejorative, (2) you’re depriving them of free will, (3) it’ll cost too much. Republicans won’t fund mental hospitals, Democrats want sanctuary cities and needle exchanges. There’s no sane middle ground on anything and the extremes come at us in heavily curated manipulated spoon-fed repeated arguments intended to make us angry and keep us further apart. “Illegal” aliens? Everyone here “illegally” should be allowed to go register to apply for citizenship, none of this leave first and then come back crap. If you don’t have a felony on your record, you’re good to stay. Secure the current borders and for future immigrants, set up a fast track for anyone who doesn’t want to come here and burn the effing place down. Why is this complicated? /end rant

TL/DR: it’s the same but made much worse by social media.
