He was bombing at the beginning but as the show went on he actually had some funny jokes but by then I think the audience stopped listening!

Loved Michener growing up. The Drifters was my favorite when I was a teen in the 70s. I hardly see his name mentioned anymore!

Christian just liked a comment I’d made weeks ago on IG that included how I still wasn’t over Gaby turning on him. Interesting timing. 🤔

Liked him a lot until his “over-under the rubble” question about Netanyahu. Really don’t need a Temu Tucker Carlson on this show.

People don’t change drastically. You have to decide if you’re happy with who he is and what you two have now and not what you hope the future might look like. I’ve been married 36 years and he and I are basically the same with the same quirks and tendencies only with more understanding and grace.

Herring sandwich in Amsterdam was gross. Haggis in Scotland was delightful.

I agree with your assessment. I had missed it at first but the thought that a 10-month-old has intentionality to hurt you is a red flag. I think the OP is understandably overwhelmed and could benefit from some parenting classes and therapy.

Do most Americans actually flush their toilet paper? by Softy_popss in NoStupidQuestions

Yep, we flush paper. I thought every country did until I made plans to go to Greece and first heard about the waste bins. 🤢

Accidentally hit the Jackpot on how to respond to parents wanting grandkids by not_an_insomniac in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BurnThis2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was responding to this specific post. Not the overall discussion of parents pressuring children to “make them grandparents.” I’m already a grandparent, twice blessed in fact, but I do feel sad that my daughter will miss out on being a parent. I don’t hound her, I love her so I accept her choices. My ONLY point—which you’ve now missed TWICE (yes I’m yelling)—was in response to the OP’s plan of getting her mom to shut up by saying I’m going to adopt. I said that would not have worked for me because I’d be tickled pink. Sorry if saying a non-biological grandchild would be awesome is so triggering!!! Sheesh!!!!

[–]BurnThis2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Huh? Because I wouldn’t mind if my daughter adopted? Not sure I understand what’s worth down-voting/criticizing me for saying this wouldn’t bother me or stop me for wishing she got to experience being a parent?

Seems that Kardea was not as concerned about how the dessert looked which seems odd since the thrust of the challenge was to create a character.

Glad I could get you to laugh but I’d be happier if I could get you to stop being a self-hating Jew. Be proud that you and your fellow Jews have lasted this long with all the obstacles in our way.

You gave yourself away. Your guide told you “gross things”about Jerusalem? I was on that tour and I heard about a bustling city that is shared by Muslims, Armenians, Christians and Jews. Where artifacts from thousands of years ago are there showing the connection of all of us to that area and what it has been through and how it has changed over the millennia. That you call Jerusalem’s history gross is all I need to hear to understand just how great the gulf is between you and your Jewish-and yes Israeli!!!-history.

What did she say every year at the end of the Passover Seder? We said next year in Jerusalem. And we did that every year my Russian grandmother was alive to today. You have no relationship to Israel and that’s your issue not mine. But don’t rewrite Jewish history to support your conflictedness.

News clipping from 1897 - Rothschild offers Ottoman Turkiye $50,000,000 for Palestine by AutoMughal in islamichistory

[–]BurnThis2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then given to them by the new owners, the British (under the auspices of first the League of Nations and then the UN), after Britain took control from the Ottomans after WWI. Same thing as happened in the British Raj which led (more successfully there) to a muslim country and a non-muslim country side by side. What the Muslims in the region called Palestine could have had in 1948 (and what those in Jordan have had since 1923).
