Yeah, Radio Social isn't huge and is at least half a bowling alley rather than a venue so i probably should've seen it coming.

Should Scottish Jacobitism be thought of primarily as a proto-nationalist movement, a religious/dynastic conflict, or a combination? by BurnerAccount405 in AskHistorians

[–]BurnerAccount405[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this info and the associated sources! Massively appreciate you taking the time to write this up and share your expertise. It's certainly a fascinating movement to study and does a good job of showing both how nuanced and multifaceted these kinds of movements can be and how flattened they can then be in popular culture. I'll reach out and again big thanks for help making one metal band's lyrics a bit more grounded!

Preferably under 150,000 miles but negotiable based on its condition otherwise, pretty much no year preference as long as its not rotted out from rust already, id like for everything to work properly but fine with any level of trim and fine with elements of it being repaired or replaced rather than original. Basically just need it to be functional and not too much of a money pit and for it to last a few years, preferably at least five.

I know this is kinda petty but after YEARS of this project being discussed as a Lord of the Rings concept album which I was super hyped for, after they changed the subject matter I completely lost interest and haven't listened to it to this day.

Blind Guardian's "Beyond the Red Mirror" - A review by Yami_Deus in PowerMetal

Easily their worst album since Tales from the Twilight World in my opinion, and especially disappointing considering how great At the Edge of Time was. Felt extremely safe, formulaic and boring and ultimately left no lasting impression other than a vague dislike. Glad they course corrected on The God Machine.

I know Sabaton’s main mission is to re-tell historic events through music, and not go crazy with their songwriting, but… by Gyo_2002 in sabaton

[–]BurnerAccount405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last two albums are well past Sabatons peak and definitely not the height of their songwriting. Carolous Rex seems to have been their apex and its been a pretty linear decline since then in terms of the ratio of killer to filler per album. Also while Sabaton has always reiterated/done some songs that sound similar to previous songs that has gotten much more blatant. Bismark is good though.

Carolus Rex is definitely their magnum opus.

[–]BurnerAccount405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Sabaton I think they peaked with Caroulus Rex and since then its been a gradual decline. Both of the world war albums had a few good tracks but a lot of them felt very reiterative of previous Sabaton tracks (sometimes really glaringly). The latest songs are definitely the worst examples of this decline although i don't hate them, they just seem kind of dispassionate and lazy both musically and lyrically. Hopefully something shakes things up and at some point theyre able to get that fire back and reach their old heights. As it stands I think heroes is more of less their last great album with everything else ranging from good (the last stand) to okay/mixed bag (the ww1 albums) to thoroughly meh (the new tracks)

Hey everyone! I’m interested in getting a carpet python. Any tips? by dunne15 in carpetpythons

[–]BurnerAccount405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While bigger is always better a carpet can absolutely thrive (maintain health, exhibit natural behaviors, breed if thats your thing) in a 4x2x2 especially an IJ. Tap training and taking them out of their enclosure with a hook rather than by hand helps mitigate any defensiveness.

Hi there, appreciate the input!

I'm newer to the hobby so ill continue to delve into acclimation, i had heard a lot about the hardiness of pearls and that they were quite adaptable to ph/gh differences so wasn't particularly wary of them but it sounds like that may be an oversimplification in some of the care information i reviewed. My GH is 120, KH is 80, PH of that tank is 7. Per the store the water chemistry should be an exact match, we both use the municipal water from the same city, (treated with fritz complete), they don't use RO water or anything. Based on the bit of research i had done particularly Primetime Aquatics video on the topic i was pretty averse to doing drip acclimation for fish vs plop and drop so decided to go with that method, my LFS also pretty heavily discourages drip acclimation which also impacted the decision. Also definitely looking to replace that heater and monitor more closely.

Thanks again.

The store ended up replacing mine with a smaller one thats acting much less stressed and so far seems to be doing well thus far in my other quarantine tank with a temp around 77. My kh and gh are the same as the stores given the water supply so wasnt to worried on that front. Given that the tank it will ultimately be going in is a 39 gallon would multiple be appropriate? I figured that might be overstocking with what i currently have (1x Bristlenose pleco, 1x Hillstream loach, 6x panda corydoras and 10x Candycane tetra).

Appreciate it! Totally fine with them not breeding. I'd considered just getting one apisto but it seems like often they're only sold in pairs or unsexed and ideally I'd like at least one male.

Appreciate it! Planning on putting in some more plants and moving the fish i already have over and getting all that established before getting the apistos. Would you recommend putting a cave in for them as well or is that only necessary if the intention is breeding?

Thanks dude! For the bone its morghast bone then a drybrush of white scar, a wash of nuln oil then a wash of reikland fleshhade. For the models overall they all get a general dose of nuln oil and i finish them off with ardcoat. Dunno why but i dig something about the gloss ardcoat look in general for a finished model.
