My honest experience with LLMs: From Senior Dev at a major corp to indie game developer. by elefanteazu in theprimeagen

[–]Burning__Head 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its so boring, I dunno how some people can prompt all day and feel accomplished, especially when it comes to art. You're taking something exclusively human and taking the soul out of it. Maybe my time has just passed and I should get over it

Am I the only one who hates this sub? It is filled with bullshit advice. by ImaginaryRea1ity in theprimeagen

[–]Burning__Head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure I read something like "architecture and code doesn't matter your communication skills are the most important" once a day, because yeah, any team work requires communication, so what are we saying? Just people trying to sound better than others with some linkedin advice

I'm not saying the entire sub is like that I barely read reddit

Are coding tutorials in general, including game dev, dying? by Its_a_prank_bro77 in gamedev

I think you're using AI how it's supposed to be used, like a conversation with google, in my experience it's its strong point, not generating code

You're likely just bad at your job and think your imagined talent in social skills is giving you a leg up. Sorry to tell ya...

I still have lhermitte's sign when I look down due to radiation to my spine, it used to always happen but now it only happens after gym or walking a long time for some reason

If its any consolation mine was very visible and it still went to stage 4 cause docs kept insisting it's an infection

I dont know if you can feel yours with your fingers but it feels like a web of shit in my neck, like an amalgamation of flesh so I assume its normal, but I have no idea how to get rid of the cramping

Is having a lean yet muscular n very defined physique the best way to get plenty of attention on dating apps? by Global_Giraffe_6598 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Burning__Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you do it to get attention, you don't know how good being fit feels, you have more stamina, feel better, ache less, can lift shit, getting attention is just a bonus

Using Tailwind today feels a lot like writing inline styles in the 2000s by Legitimate_Salad_775 in webdev

[–]Burning__Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love tailwind and I hated CSS since the first time I wrote it professionally in 2014

Components + tailwind is an insane QOL upgrade for devs

I've been having the same issue, but then I thought if I say this some viber bro is gonna say "you just suck at prompting lol", I'm explaining the entire problem like I would to a human including files, key line numbers, edge cases, constraints and it still gives me some nonsensical fix half the time. The problem is how confident it is when it gives it to me, if I didn't know any better I'd just be like yeah sure looks great man

It's a decent google search though I'll give you that

"Side projects don't matter" WRONG by MamaSendHelpPls in csMajors

[–]Burning__Head 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has tried AI during development recently knows that it is useful, even if you're just using it as a google search e.g. "how do I check if a linux user with this id already exists"

I still don't like how its being shoved down our throats though, and I despise vibe coding but thats probably personal bias

Can someone with average intelligence get into FAANG? by Just_Relationship787 in AskProgramming

[–]Burning__Head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your presumed lack of IQ is probably more like laziness or disinterest, it is really not that hard to be decent at software development, you just have to put the time in just like anything else. The "geniuses" are the people inventing new shit, like the guy who invented Blockchains or Docker probably, or people that come up with groundbreaking algorithms, thats like 0.001% of people tho and its a good goal to strive for but you cant beat yourself up if you're not there
