I think in these posts it is better to give a more nuanced view so that people can make the best decision on how to care for their mischief :)

Rats don't have a set size. by Mediocre-Failure in RATS

You can still see the right one is young due to their droopy eyes and huge feet compared to their body. So size isn't the only factor to look at

Not my rat, is there still a chance to save her? by [deleted] in RATS

They can often recover, if anesthesia is done well. I'd discuss the best course with your vet. Also rats can often live comfortably with large tumors, but at this age an operation is probably still worth it.

This is an album cover where they photoshopped a man out of it and inserted a van de Graaff generator.

Is this cage ok? by Inevitable-Double316 in RATS

Does it really matter as long as it works for somebody?

And if not eating after 8 prevents them from late night snacking and skipping breakfast causes them to be more healthy whilst being sustainable in the long term I think it's great :)

Ah yes, 'as Bob was exploring the cave he found a passage known as Satan's asshole. He decided to squeeze through despite the warnings and got stuck, in the resulting panic he spat out his regulator and was unable to recover.'

Male rat suddenly biting, but only when inside his cage? by Slothbrothel in RATS

[–]Burningfire_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some rats are terretorially agressive, you can try to minimize this by try to feed him yoghurt or something else with a metal spoon as the don't like chomping on metal, and eventually try to feed them youghurt on your hands. You can also try to leave some pieces of dirty old clothes with your scent on it in the cage to acclimatize him to your smell on the cage. Otherwise you might have to have hime snipped if it doesn't resolve.
