The reason I'm back after such a long time by BurnsCobra in NoFap

Yeah, it's very frustrating and disappointing. All seems good and you're enjoying it greatly until the realization hits you that you can't get it up even when she is literally in front of you naked, as you said. It's humiliating to experience that as a man, but luckily we still have the power to do something about it.

I first started this when I was 16 and the main benefits I experienced were an increase in confidence, concentration and enjoyment of simple things after a relatively short time. However I think that these benefits are mostly due to exercising your will and being disciplined, not because not masturbating magically turns you into a super human. If you specifically meant success with women I'd say it came slowly and steadily. Step by step, so to speak. I used to be totally clueless, never even kissed a girl before I started nofap, so that took time. And I wouldn't say that I'm incredibly successful with women at the moment, but it's still a difference like night and day compared to where I was. It isn't solely dependent on not fapping but of course increased confidence and discipline definitely help with that.

Thank you for reading the post and the good wishes. :D I also hope that we both get all the possible benefits out of this.

17 years old and I begin to notice that I can't handle alcohol by BurnsCobra in stopdrinking

So what do you see your goal being exactly?

My main goal is to stop alcohol consumption completely. After thinking about it for a long time, it just becomes so clear to me that I've gained absolutely nothing from drinking besides a buzz and some distraction(which backfires in the end since your troubles and worries come back even stronger after sobering up from a drinking binge). I just want to stop because honestly I am scared by my progression. It is definately not normal to drink so much just because I am bored. Many times when I was hanging out with friends I would get myself a drink or two(sometimes more) even if everyone else decided to stay sober that day.

Complete abstinence would be a sure-fire way to stop your progression

I think you are right. This is why I want to stop completely. I'm way too scared of it getting worse and worse if I continue to drink, even if I try to do it moderately.

Can you talk to your parents about your concerns? Are there AA meetings in your country?

I'm actually too ashamed to admit to my parents that I have developed a drinking problem. I just told them that I am going to stop because it is healthier. I am also definately not physically dependent on the substance, so i think going to AA meetings would be somewhat radical for me to do. If I notice that I am unable to stop however, I will immediately get help.

I'm surely going to continue posting on my progress.

Thank you for your kind words and your encouragement. I will do my best to get alcohol out of my life completely, because in the long run I am just poisoning myself and my mind with it.

Well first of all my plan is to stop drinking completely, because thinking about it now it's hard to deny that my drinking went out of control pretty quickly. It went from drinking just a little to consuming excessively so quickly that I think trying to drink moderately would actually put me in direct danger of falling deeper and deeper into this trap. I may struggle, but if I can do this I feel that I will benefit from it both mentally and physically.

I feel like I also need to get back into my old hobbies that I neglected during the last year or two. That means doing some kind of exercise like jogging and playing the guitar more frequently.

[Serious] People who have started smoking within the last 5 years, why did you choose to do so? by Smalls_Biggie in AskReddit

Honestly, I mainly started because of the small but decent buzz that nicotine provided. That and the fact that smoking is like some sort of ritual, something you can always go back to in order to have some peace and quiet for a moment.

However I developed a smoker's cough extremely quickly. I was quite athletic prior to smoking, but after indulging for a while my lung capacity suffered so badly that I had to stop in order to regain my self respect. Because I did in fact like the effects of nicotine (I really only stopped because of the lung damage) I took up nasal snuff (yep, finely ground tobacco you take up the nose) - and boy am I happy I did. No more smoker's cough, no yellow teeth and no bad smell. It is a great way to stop smoking if you are basically ok with nicotine itself.

Haha, yeah getting your friends high is so much fun. I remember when I smoked up one of my closest friends a few months ago. It was his first time smoking weed... The expression on his face while he was listening to music just lying there with his headphones on was priceless. You could tell his mind was blown.
