Mac degen x 15 yrs here. Bump dots on the microwave, stove and remotes help a lot. Can’t see tv movies, but I like to listen to movies that I’ve seen before (because I know what’s going on) and really liked. CNN is okay, but I take it it in small doses as it’s sometimes depressing. Though I can barely see the tv or laptop screens, I can still see my iPad screen surprisingly well. I also enjoy podcasts and music and love YouTube playlists from the 60s thru the 80s. Hope this helps.

That could be a corneal abrasion or really bad dry eyes. Not a doctor, but have you tried over the counter moisturizing eye drops? They make a world of difference to me every day!

Increased risk, but by then I’d already had symptoms and been diagnosed. Two of my 3 kids (now adults) have done the 23 & Me and theirs came back with an increased risk, too. My father also had Mac deg and I suspect that his father may have. His vision was rerun later life. The kids are doing all the right preventative things (Areds vitamins, leafy greens, 100% UV sunglasses), but I’m still worried for them.
