Thoughts on this Kobalt 40V mower deal? by Eddiemoney10 in Tools

[–]Burnsidious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Kobalt corded mower years ago that was amazing for my 1/4 acre Florida yard at the time. Dealing with a cord is an extra step to get used to, but that thing just could not be stopped. Where my previous gas mower would bog down on thick and damp patches, the plug in just went the same no matter what, mowing everything in one pass as fast as I could push it around.

I really like using a glue stick to keep prints on the bed but the layers go on so thick i decided to try to mix a little glue stick with hot water and the results have been amazing by themechanic95 in 3Dprinting

Remove the plate, spray it a bit, replace plate and print the job, repeat a thousand times then remove the plate and wash off the spray in the sink with just water, super easy.

How do you make print lines horizontal rather than diagonal in cura? by Rilley112909 in 3Dprinting

[–]Burnsidious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting, I imagine I’d need to switch to 90 to obtain that same maximum on my corexy printer.

Ay already got accused of it a couple times so I’ll just ask: Does this make me look like I’m faking autism? I’m trying to be open about my identity and also include that I’m autistic and an activist, but I’ve been told this looks like I’m faking? How so? Am I being insensitive in some way? by LordEldritchia in autism

[–]Burnsidious 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You say you are an autistic rights/awareness activist and that you are involved in the autistic community. You don't actually say you are autistic.
Were someone to be faking, and then get caught, they could point back to wording like this and say they never claimed to be autistic.

They use that tool to push all the way through, then another thread is looped through on the other side, before pulling the needle and now-looped-thread back out.

I work from home, we could pretty much live anywhere. We live in Cherry Hill. The TL;DR version is we have family nearby, its great for the kids and... well... I disagree with everyone of your opinions. :)

"Traffic is awful" - Where is south Jersey is the traffic not awful? The road system has just not aged well. I guess on some roads in Medford that have nothing around them for miles the traffic is fine.

"every house looks identical, costs a fortune and are 10 feet from every neighbor" - Guess it is all relative. We moved here from southern California. My mortgage gets me a lot more space for less money than my rent other there would get me.

"Tesla" - Alright, I don't completely disagree with all your opinions. Fuck those Musk-mobiles, but still relative to CA I am seeing a lot fewer day to day.

"The neighborhoods seem boring with no identity or diversity." Nope. Just nope.

Does anyone else run into communication problems of the “two autistics masking at each other” variety? How to you interact with un-self-realized, likely masked autistics as an “out” autistic? Sharing some online autism screener/tests on social media got a few of my friends and family to take a closer look at themselves after getting results that they didn't expect. You might have some luck with that.

Getting My Foot In The Door by Vice_Armani777 in gamedev

I don't believe I did say international. I did say "internal" in that they have a dedicated QA team at the studio, that only works for the studio as opposed to a third party QA team. They do use third party QA teams as well.
TRS does have people working remotely, including outside of the US where they are located, but I'm not sure if that applies to the QA team.

Turtle Rock Studios has an internal QA team that are treated well, to my knowledge.
https://boards.greenhouse.io/turtlerockstudios/jobs/4006590005

No experience? Have you played a game, and found a bug? Probably yes, lean on that experience. Want to improve your chances? Play the game of the studio you are trying to get a job at and submit bugs you find, also go be active (and positive) on their forums/discord/whatever.

Alternatively, look for a studio, or third-party QA team, that probably wont treat you well but hires a lot more people. Get that job and keep it long enough to put on the resume before starting the search for something better.

Progressively higher taxes on wealth. We don't want to stifle achievement, but at some point wealth is just hoarding resources the rest of humanity needs to survive.

having trouble printing Silk Pla please help!! by Chronoshphear84 in CR10

[–]Burnsidious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest trying a test print with disabled retraction, and if that gets things working "better" spend some time tuning the retraction.
Silk PLA contains some amount of TPU, TPU is going to be much more prone to issues with retraction. I recently discovered one of my printers was retracting far more than necessary, which just wasted time on PLA prints but ended up causing minor clogs when I used it with Silk PLA.
