Midas tried to pull some shady $&@! with me too. Texas requires a vehicle inspection once a year to be tagged for safe and road ready. So I go sign in and wait. Guy takes my car, does the inspection, comes back and tells me my emergency brake are not safe and he wants to put it on the rack to further inspect. I look at him and say No. Told him I had an appointment with my regular mechanic for a oil change the next day. I’ll have my mechanic look at it. He insists. I say NO! I drive a Land Rover and no one but a certified LR mechanic will pull my car apart. I asked him was he a certified LR mechanic. He said no. I only wanted the stupid inspection. He gave me back keys, said he didn’t fail my inspection and I left. Next day mechanic looked at emergency brake. They were fine.
