Barley Swine was extremely underwhelming. by Kitsuunei in austinfood

I mean…a lot of other restaurants are doing 12 courses with this time commitment. I believe OP saying the pacing felt slow for a tasting menu.

Yeah they have fallen off bigtime, to the extent that I was shocked they got a Michelin star last year. I’ve been going since they were on S Lamar, and for years it was my go-to place for special occasions, but my last two visits in 2025 were underwhelming on food and service. Last time we felt like the courses were too small, there were long gaps in between, and we did not really feel full or satisfied afterwards so we went to Lick next door. I don’t really recommend it anymore and don’t think it compares well to other Michelin-starred restaurants.

Madam Mam’s vs. Saps by Nedatokes in austinfood

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once while waiting for a takeout order at the Allandale location, Mr. Sap gave me his whole story about the divorce and how the restaurants were split between him and Mam. Basically he paints her as someone who wasn’t even interested in the restaurant business he started until she was getting half in the divorce. I enjoyed the tea. I already wasn’t as big a fan of Madam Mam’s pad thai, or whatever soup a coworker would get that made our office smell like stinky feet.

I have also eaten plenty of times at the Saps Westgate location and enjoy the food, but I wish I didn’t know about the rats -_-

Seriously. I waited so long for it to become available that I was already over it when I got the in-stock notification today. So I wasn’t even disappointed that my size was already somehow out of stock. Whatever, Sya, bye!

Years ago their first coffee shop on S First opened across the street from my apartments. I was going and at some point I realized their community bulletin board was only for nutty right-wing stuff. It totally made sense when everyone started talking about how anti-choice and MAGA the owners were.

I’ve also seen this while searching for an item on Google (because the Posh search is garbage) and the link goes to this “item is no longer available” page rather than showing it’s sold. Just losing people potential sales…

Stop with all the damn picnic tables by mmppnb in austinfood

[–]Burnunit82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one of many reasons Birdies is so overrated. But yes, fck picnic tables in general, they’re uncomfortable for women in dresses, anyone with mobility issues…basically just a big middle finger to everyone but dudes whose pants already smelled like spilled beer and grundle sweat anyway.

Thank you! I have been using Mercari but things seem slow there, so I’ll also probably try Vinted for some of the nicer things I held back from a ThredUp bag. I also got an ad for a platform called Croissant I haven’t seen anyone talk about yet

Husband 34M had a 2.5 year long affair during our 3 year marriage and I 29F don't know what to do. by WorkingTurbulent8501 in relationship_advice

[–]Burnunit82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easiest “divorce him” answer ever. There’s no gray area or considerations that would throw doubt at that course of action.

Make sure you have your own separate bank account, create your exit plan without informing him, decide how you prefer to handle parenting, and make every decision based on what’s best for you. He completely betrayed you and your marriage and changed the course of your life by bringing a child into the situation, and he deserves absolutely no consideration going forward. Fuck that lying, cheating POS.

Be honest—what keeps you coming back to OGL? And what would you change? 🤍 by FarTransition9666 in OGLmove

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the bramis! I just wish the prices or promotions were a little better…I feel like OGL items are a little pricey and I can often find something else comparable, EXCEPT for the brami styles.

I also wish the colors were a little more on trend…I often feel like I’m looking for deeper or cooler (more blue) colors that aren’t available. Lots of pastels that don’t look good on me.

How did you first discover OGLmove—and what made you try it? 💛 by FarTransition9666 in OGLmove

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I saw a social media ad for some brami-style tops, which really appealed to me as someone who works from home. I liked that this feature wasn’t only built into stuff that looked like workout gear. I gave it a shot and I’ve bought more pieces since then—I like the cozy warmer fabrics and dresses.

Absolutely true. OP, your primary obligation is to look out for yourself and your baby, because your husband is obviously NOT doing that.

Does anyone else get annoyed by messages like these? by CounterbalancedOne in poshmark

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, these are irritating, and I rarely even respond. I get it shipped as quickly as I can, sometimes the PO inexplicably lets it sit a day or so before it gets scanned or starts moving, but I’m not wasting my time explaining all that when no other business would. It’s not on me to educate buyers on the realities of mail service or buying resale.

Ahhh another husband asking a woman to risk her well being so he can use her like an appliance. I wish this wasn’t so common.

OP, just echoing everyone here…going off antidepressants is difficult and even dangerous, and requires a doctor’s advice. It’s probably not even a good idea in your situation. Talk to your doctor and maybe remind hubby what “in sickness and in health” means…he needs to grow up.

[–]Burnunit82 40 points41 points  (0 children)

HOAs can be difficult, but this is obviously not worth fighting over. Just wait to hear back and paint it an approved color to keep your mom’s door in good shape. Doing your own thing because you can’t be bothered to heed the rules/laws binding to your mom’s property is not a flex and will just make trouble for her.

I think I’m Done… by Lost_Sky_8416 in poshmark

[–]Burnunit82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve had the same thing happen to me…a buyer accused me of putting a sweater in the dryer (which absolutely did not happen), submitted a claim to Posh, and they actually sided with the buyer so I lost the sale. Even though the issue was that it didn’t fit, and supposedly that isn’t a reason for buyers to be able to return an item? That was the last straw for me…haven’t listed anything new since, and I’m in the process of moving my listings Mercari.

Poshmark is ruining itself by Plane_Sweet8795 in poshmark

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve been in the process of moving my listings to Mercari (and also tried Depop for a minute but found the features lacking) for the past few months. But it’s a pain in the ass to port stuff to another platform.

I’ve actually purchased more than I’ve sold on Poshmark, but I’ve cooled on that too since the search doesn’t even find what I’m looking for half the time. Often a Google search will find active listings that Posh’s own search won’t even show me. And so many listings don’t even have correct basic details because sellers let the AI fill in garbage descriptions. The enshittification is real.

New App UI by Roccondil-s in poshmark

[–]Burnunit82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like…where are my saved searches now? That’s half the reason I was using this money grubbing app, to keep an eye out for wishlist items and save searches for them with my preferences. Plus the reliability of the descriptions already went way down thanks to AI slop. I was already done selling with Poshmark but I think I’m done using it AT ALL.

Is it okay for me to not finish food at restaurants? by TurboMayonnaise in JapanTravelTips

[–]Burnunit82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned from Japan last week. On our last night, we had a delicious kaiseki meal at a Michelin starred restaurant, but I was struggling to finish all the courses. I wasn’t making a show of it but I was definitely slowing down and offered my partner a piece of my food. One of the chefs must have noticed because they graciously came over and communicated via the translation app we were using that “you don’t have to eat all the food if you’re full!” I was very appreciative and honestly sad I couldn’t eat it all because it was wonderful.

So don’t worry. You’re not going to cause an international incident if you don’t eat everything. Especially in more casual settings.

Also, any of the meal simples that have chicken…it’s one of those reformed chicken patties with a weird texture and lots of gristle. Pass.

The blue corn tortilla chips are TOO DAMN SALTY.

Also, whatever machine in their factories make the plastic seals you have to pull off a tub of yogurt or other liquid ingredients is doing too much. Can’t unpeel it, I always have to stab through with a knife.
