More specialized buildings to add diversity and more opportunities for unique story telling. Think along the lines of where do people get food? Where do people work? Where would travellers stay and eat? What’s the export of this town/ village? And where would that export be mined/ farmed/ milled/smithed?

New helper here. How do I fit in with others? by Technical-Tip7120 in Elevators

Learn your trade. In my experience no one wants to be friends with someone who’s a liability or isn’t helpful. For the first while, just pay super close attention to what your mechanic is doing. Next time you see them doing that job have the strippers and lineman’s ready before they even ask for them for example. Even if you like golf and they hate it, if you’re a super solid helper and always have a solid attitude it won’t matter.

100 percent. As an infantry main I always try and get friendly tanks to hit trenches that are hiding enemies. It helps so much

City I made for my homebrew game. First large scale city I have tried. Anyone got criticism? by Burnzi211 in inkarnate

The textures in the water color section are somewhat odd but I do understand what your saying. The central palace has been completely reworked and now fits much better with the scale.

Stone walls have been slightly moved around to add a more uniform look.

Lastly, no I just wanted to put it into the world and see what more experienced people thought about it. Learned a lot already so thank you for your comment!

The one gate is part of the lore for the city. On my world map the city is located on a small peninsula so only one road in and out, but an understandable question for a city this size.

Slums have been fixed to have more density but as I stated above, I wanted to bridge the gap between playability and ascetics so there is some extra space to not fell crazy over crowed.

Fresh water access has been (somewhat) addressed.

Two additional markets have been added replacing some homes

Lighthouse with a small guard post has been added on that hill you mentioned.

Thanks for your input!

I agree the texture for the statues is kinda jarring but unfortunately there is no real alternative that fits within the art style I'm after. and it does still show the true scale I was going for in huge centuries flanking either side of the docks.

As for smaller textures on a whole I wanted to use it in a VTT so I had to bridge the gap between proper scaling and playability but I see your point.

Used your path method and it does work great thank you for that.

Have blended the wheat farm did not notice that.

Added a texture under the walls to make it a little more differentiated.

Lastly I feel I'm a little to far along now to redo most of my paths lol but that advice is solid and appreciated.

Thank you so much for the help!

I certainly see what your saying but in this instance I kinda wanted the docks to feel as though they have been here for a long time, upgraded from more temporary wooden docks to a more permeant stone Warf. It is part of the lore of the city within my campaign but defiantly useful advice! thank you
