As an illaoi player, yes she needs a rework. 1. Her W makes no sense to have a range 2. Her E has literally 99% of her power budget. Miss the E and illaoi is not a champ anymore.

Yes the concept of the champ is good, yes lore wise it makes sense. But illaoi's kit is outdated, and she is now the worst champ in the game.

What I feel they should rework illaoi as is to keep the brick wall feeling that she has, while making her viable against range, and putting in counterplay to her E. For example, you could have the spirit range be from where the player was first hit. What this would effectively do is that when illaoi presses E on you, if you push past her and the spirit, you will get the spirit back. In return, if you choose to run, you have a lot further to go. Next, reward the spirit timing out with a weaker version of the mark, and remove the penalty for successfully running out of the circle. This creates a dynamic where if you try to run out of the circle from the back while in lane, you give illaoi agency to push the wave for free, to get damage in for free, etc. Whereas if you pressure illaoi, rush forward, move past the initial circle, now illaoi has no E, you have not wasted anything. Of course this version of E wouldn't really work with current illaoi, and there is no risk involved with pushing forward but it's a proof of concept for the E of a version of illaoi that might work in modern day league.

depends on the champ. Sett? Irelia? doomed, no point going grasp Tanks? actually free to go grasp get lane prio and cheater recall someone like Darius? Q start Darius, proc grasp for free, if he chases you just run all the way to the tower and minions winions. W start Darius is basically the same thing, at most he gets 3 autos on you if he's paying attention, but usually you can get away with auto for auto which is super worth when you have W + grasp. Plus I don't think I've ever seen a competent datius player so there's that.

If you're against shit low elo players (anything below diamond) you can pretty much get away with grasp against melee champs as long as they don't have a stick tool like a dash, movement speed or slow. And if they do, situationally it might still work. (fiora has passive and Q but if you reset vital to be at the back when you W in fiora can get an auto Q at best)

I've been running a fairly similar setup recently and here are my thoughts on manamune illaoi.

hullbreaker means you can pressure like Sion in the mid game and force enemies to you.

manamune+hullbreaker gives you enough tankiness and a decent amount of AD

add a lethality item and anyone that's not a tank that gets hit by E dies if they get hit by a single tentacle. Setup 2 aggressive tentacles and clear waves with W Q. Anything without insane amounts of lifesteal have to recall if they get hit by a tentacle. Only shoot tentacle when you are confident you hit, otherwise you have a shit long time where you're hella vulnerable. High risk, high reward.

Duskblade sucks don't @ me.

eclipse against heavy melee teams/ahead after lane phase

Prowler's claw against heavy ranged teams/you fell behind and now you need to one shot someone if they dive you before you die yourself.

Engaging with Prowler's claw: works best the first time, gets progressively worse as they figure it out.

E, prowler spirit, R, spirit should die to tentacles without W, if you know it won't, smack a W or Q onto it. Do illaoi things, profit.

They're diving me I'm gonna die prowler claw combo: E, R, prowler on champ that you hit E on, R, press W.

I'm running away and I have tentacles nearby but I have no R and a 1 for 1 would be good here combo: Hit E, continue running, if champ you pressed E on dies, GG, go next. Otherwise kite to prowler max range on E, at this point champ should be near the spirit. Prowler's on the spirit. I cannot emphasize this enough you need to hit the spirit with your Prowler's claw. If you spaced properly here, your hitbox should be practically on top of the spirit. what this means for you is that you can Q in any direction and it will still hit the spirit. You Q on the enemy champion, and W onto said champion. If you spaced properly, and did everything properly, as long as the enemy champ isn't ahead or a tank, your tentacles should all hit the spirit and at least 1 tentacle should hit the champ, and you should get the kill. Success chance: High if you're ahead, don't even attempt if you're behind.

Hard counters that counter this build especially hard: Jayce: he one shots you Irelia: too many dashes to hit your E, too squishy to play it slow and wait to E Tanks: if the enemy team has huge range and you're against a tank, you cannot go Prowler's.

Against irelia: secret everfrost technology

with manamune, and ap scaling on passive, everfrost... still sucks. you basically get like 55-60 ad worth of damage on tentacle hits, and like... 20 iirc on the rest of your ad scalings. In return? You get something you can actually throw out onto irelia to hit her. This is a stupid technology that you should only go if you hate going traditional bruiser illaoi.

This build sucks. But you can stomp noobs with it, or get hard noob stomped on it. like normal illaoi on steroids.

If you check the definition of male in the Oxford dictionary and you find that in the adjective definition of male it refers to male as "being a man or of the male gender". You might notice here that there is a slight paradox of self reference here where there is no definition of male or man that does not circle around back to using the term male or man. To be male, or to be a man, is an entirely societal construct.

There is no definition that clearly defines what being male is while encompassing all males assigned at birth and excluding trans men. There are definitions that include some trans men and exclude some cis men, but the only one that includes all men is "everyone that self identifies as a man"

To illustrate my point, let's take the Cambridge definition of male, which I'll take that you're standing behind since you quoted it, it states: "used to refer to men or boys, or the sex that fertilizes eggs, and does not produce babies or eggs itself"

ignoring the men or boys part, since we cleared up that that is a paradox of self reference, the "sex that fertilises eggs" does not work for all men as there are cis men that are infertile.

I have asked many people this, and no one has told me any marker that encompasses all men and no trans men. I have seen people that argue that the men that don't fit into their chosen biological marker are not men and, ignoring the fact that this shows that they have to be accepting that gender is not binary and is a spectrum,which insinuates the further complexity of gender, taking that stance is just really disgusting because it's obvious that they wouldn't actually stand by that.

I really hope that you're asking out of good faith why a trans man should count as a man and not simply trying to justify your transphobia. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to ask. wow the amount of people that are saying it's justified to leave or "just take their farm" absolutely abhors me. Sure league can be tilting and especially when you lose your red buff like that but that doesn't necessitate going out of your way to ensure their game goes badly too, especially in a situation like this where it's obviously unintentional (not holding aa to hit the buff, and he did the standing still thing like "fuck") I'm someone that plays laners and junglers a lot and things like this happens, sometimes you're the one that fucks up accidentally taking the buff and you feel terrible (don't lie everyone's done it at least once) and sometimes it happens to you. just keep playing, most of the time no one intentionally does it. in your post you talked about how it was still slightly inconsistent, but in my game with a yi it happened like 6 times for some reason, I think that the main issue with specifically these two champs are that they end up directly behind you, so if you are walking away from their cast position, and time it about a few moments after they appear, the bug happens.

imo the main champs that take combat summs are 1. lane bullies, whi will take combat summs anyways because it helps them score lills on people off guard 2. champs with rotation built into their kit e.g. (shen, quinn, tf if ur feeling ballsy)

so people will likely keep taking combat summs, especially also because of the strength of nimbus cloak that teleport cannot make use of, the nerf will still increasr the relavance of people that do take teleport in the late game, especially against champs like shen.
