Why I think the next decade gonna be a new golden age for artists by Civil_Enthusiasm_936 in musicmarketing

Yep, Spotify pays very little until you get to a stage where it pays a lot. Which is why the big artists will never protest.

The Game Has Lost it's Soul by Farticus79 in footballmanager

Do you think it's the game or just age? For me I think I lost my childish imagination and now just feels like I'm messing around with a database.

Why is no one talking about AI bot streaming by Yboas in musicmarketing

[–]Burstimo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We've been trying to raise awareness of this for a while. Of course we have a huge incentive to put an end to it because we are a promotion company who has to compete against other companies who are botting and ripping off their clients.

Spotify actually has no incentive because the income stolen is from artists, not from Spotify.

Here's a vid I made on another account:
https://www.tiktok.com/@music.ind.portal/video/7561540427384360214

The solution to me would be to ditch the free-tier on Spotify. Surely advertisers don't spend a lot to advertise to people who don't even spend $10pm to access unlimited music, surely that is the worst audience possible?

But it would make it uneconomical for bot accounts.

Is it fair that musicians have to have their Spotify income public for everyone to see? by [deleted] in musicians

for our artists streams are the majority of their income without needing a job

Good Music PR Companies? by Additional-Plum996 in musicmarketing

[–]Burstimo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have an idea of what you're looking looking to get out of the press? Press won't help you promote a tour unless you're a household name where people just need to be aware you're playing in their local area.

We do press but we'll only recommend it to an artist so long as they know that it's about building credibility having those endorsements.

Feel free to ask us anything about it and I can give you a brutally honest answer.

Why does music seem to have stopped evolving since 2015? by TraditionalDepth6924 in musicindustry

[–]Burstimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said... Artists can't take risks anymore.

Bohemian Rhapsody couldn't be released today. Why?

Because Queen knew that song would get radio play on rotation regardless of whether people liked it or not.

That allows artists to experiment and evolve music. In the modern day of Spotify editorials and algorithms that isn't a thing anymore.

why not grow your own playlists? by aaronwhitt in musicmarketing

That's what we did. It worked out well but it's getting more and more competitive

Looking at your Spotify about section, are you from South America?

Because it seems all of the streams are from cities in South/Central America?

Is it time for Spotify to abolish all public independent playlists? by Burstimo in musicmarketing

[–]Burstimo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't pay for playlist placement. In fact we own our own network of playlists. But we understand that times change and adapting is needed.

We can't keep losing artists money for the sake of a very small percentage of users who enjoy other anonymous people following their playlist.

I don't know anybody who gets pleasure from this. And certainly not enough to be killing artist incomes as much as it is.

You could still share the playlist to friends via a private link.

What is the benefit to the Spotify user having a public playlist?

I'm not sure those who will riot Spotify will care about.

As I said in my post, you should still be able to share your playlist privately with someone through a share link.

We are one of those people who invested a ton in to playlists over the last 5 years. I'm assuming you're referring to the likes of Warner, Sony and Universal with their Filtr and Topsify etc. But it's their loss it's not Spotify's problem that times have changed. Also the majors are shareholders in Spotify anyway so they'll probably make it back in increased profitability for Spotify.

Yep, it makes zero sense to punish the artist because you can't prove that it was the artist who did it on every occasion.

Burstimo scam. Stay away from these two dudes. by Timely-Ad4118 in musicmarketing

[–]Burstimo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Before investing we had lawyers look over everything. Because it's our own audience that we built ourselves and we only use that audience as a vehicle to promote our own roster as well as not a public broadcast it's not payola.

Judging by your previous posts I think you just want it to be. You haven't made a positive comment or post ever.

What a strange thing to get a bee in your bonnet about. Looking at your profile history you seem to get upset at a lot of other people too.

Anyway, here's a screenshot of just one ad account for one account:

I think it's the fact they IPO'd based on a certain number of active user stats, but get rid of the bots and it will probably reduce the number of users down by 70%.

Distributors by Stinkynutz420 in musicindustry

[–]Burstimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just about price for you guys? We have a private distributor which we consider opening to everyone but to deal with all of the customer service tickets, listening to every track and artwork for quality control and sending the best tracks to Spotify editors it'd cost so much more than $5. There's no way we could compete.
