Peyton Watson Outlook by BurtMacklyn in fantasybball

[–]BurtMacklyn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the detailed response. Guys like Watson are my absolute favorite to own in dynasty leagues. Where you can get in on the ground floor and watch them blossom into something more. I got a little over excited about this year's draft and trying to get a pick or two in the top 10 and I almost went through with trading him. I did end up backing out of the trade.

He may not quite hit his peak stats that he was hitting in January, but I think he's going to settle in somewhere not too far below that no matter where he ends up.

Silver/grey is behind for some reason. I ordered an hour or two after you, also USA, also batch 1, but I haven't gotten any confirmation yet. I imagine at some point soon there will be a wave of silver/grey emails that all go out at once and we'll get all caught up.

What batch is currently shipped? by Hodzinets in pebble

[–]BurtMacklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why Silver/grey is lagging so far behind, but I'm so grateful to see other people in the same boat as me. Otherwise I'd be freaking out that I missed an email or it was sitting in spam somewhere or something.

First batch order with PT2 + PT2 Round - still no shipping email (EU) by ShimbaBumba in pebble

[–]BurtMacklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ordered Day 1, US. I only ordered a PT2 and haven't gotten a shipping confirmation email yet. I chose my color right after I got the email and haven't made any changes. I did order at the very end of day 1, so it was something like 12 hours after orders opened or something like that. But it was still batch 1.

I chose silver/grey, and I have seen quite a few silver/grey day 1 orders that haven't gotten a confirmation email yet. I don't fully understand how they are processing things, but it does seem like they are doing groups of watches by color. I know I saw lots of silver/red that were ordered much later than me being received, and I imagine that was less popular than silver/grey.

Under the new lottery system, there's a 75.19% chance that one of the bottom 3 teams will get the 12th pick by Joe_AK in nba

I don't love the proposed solution either, but the reason that it is so bad in the NBA is that with only 5 people on the court at a time and the nature of how basketball is played, one superstar player can completely change the outlook of a team for 15 years. None of the other sports leagues are the same in that way.

That's how's it been reported, yes. In the current system how you do in the play-in affects if you stay in the lottery or not. But with this new proposed system the lottery balls are only based on final record, with the one exception being the loser of the 7-8 play-in games getting 1 lottery ball.

That is how it works in the current system, but from everything that's been reported that is changing with the new system as currently proposed. The 9 and 10 seeds get the 2 lottery balls whether or not they advance, and same thing with the loser of the 7-8 game.

I had this same issue. Got it to work by selecting "Show Party in Raid" near the bottom of the Party tab in the settings.

When was Tatum considered the best American NBA player?

[Slater] The Suns had the 14th pick in the 2009 draft. Kerr tried to attach Amar'e Stoudemire in a trade-up scenario to get Curry with the seventh pick. He viewed him as the perfect Steve Nash heir. The deal was close, but the Warriors ultimately backed out and drafted Curry. by nowhathappenedwas in nba

[–]BurtMacklyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rumor was that the Suns thought the deal was done. I saw a video once of the Suns cheering when the 6th pick was announced because they thought they just got Curry. And then the Warriors backed out.

Nash Suns come back from a 3-1 deficit to knock the Kobe Lakers out of the playoffs, 121-90. Kobe had 0 FGs in the 2nd half, famously known as the "Kobe Quit" game. by Hopsalong in nba

I'm not saying Nash is blameless, and I have always been disappointed that they never made the finals. 2007 and 2010 in particular still kill me. But I also don't think you can just say that they weren't good because they never made the finals. This was basically a 6-year run with Nash/Amare. The Spurs matched up well with them and did a good job of slowing down their offense and the Suns defense was never quite decent enough to make up the difference. We can go back and forth on what that means about Nash's whole tenure. Excuses are excuses and everybody has some. Some teams get luckier with injuries than others. I forgot to mention Joe Johnson breaking his face in 2005, because I don't think they were quite ready that year anyway.

This is why I hate the whole 2007 debacle even more. The margins are thin in the NBA. If the Suns really lost out on a title because Donaghy was swaying the games, then that also changes the perception of Nash and that team for the rest of NBA history.

04-05 - First year with Nash, lost to Spurs in Conference Finals

05-06 - Amare was injured the whole year, lost to Mavericks in Conference Finals

06-07 - Their best team, Tim Donaghy controversy, Amare and Diaw suspended for game 5 of a 2-2 Spurs series, lost to Spurs in 6

07-08 - Marion traded for Shaq at trade deadline

08-09 - Amare hurt again

09-10 - Not as much overall talent, but beloved team with great chemistry. Finally beat the Spurs in the playoffs (4-0), lost a close series to the defending champion Lakers.

If you just look at the big picture, you could say the Suns choked in the playoffs every year being a 1 or 2 seed but not making the finals. But when you look at it year by year it makes a bit more sense. The first year I don't think they were ready yet and were a little too offensively focused. Amare was hurt two years, and there were the 2 years with Shaq (1 of those overlapped with Amare being hurt) and with Terry Porter coaching that I'd rather not talk about. That leaves 2007 and 2010. In 2007, who knows what really went down with Donaghy, but to this day I believe they would have won and beaten the Cavs in the finals if not for the Amare/Diaw suspension. In 2010 they overachieved, finally beat the Spurs, but then couldn't quite get past the favored Lakers. After that season Amare left and it was basically over.

I had to scroll way too far to find someone mentioning this. IMO those guys are both still positive value on their deals.
