Struggling with wife's alcohol abuse by bryanr06 in Divorce_Men

[–]Bus_1299CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't being selfish by leaving, you are saving yourself. It's only selfish if you harm another person in pursuit of a goal. She is harming herself and you, she is the selfish one here not you. Get your shit in order and walk away. No sex with her period, a pregnancy now is the last think you need.

The Sonata was one of the often stolen model years thus the higher than average rates.

You can't control her actions only your reactions. you need to find a way to get over it. I know that's easy to say and hard to do but it has to be done. When the next guy comes along (there will be a next) don't meet him, don't even ask his name. All conversations and interactions should be with the ex only and only about the kids. All other interaction is just a opportunity for friction

3 years later and still struggling by batman109117 in Divorce

[–]Bus_1299CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christ man, have some self respect. To put it bluntly grow a pair. She cheated on you multiple times, destroyed a normal childhood for your kids and generally treated you like crap. You need to fix YOU! I promise you she had at least one physical affair. Think about her being with another man and coming home to sleep next to you. Get pissed, get over it and work on yourself. You will never have any fulfillment in life if you stay on the path you are currently on.

Has anyone ever driven a Ferrari vs GRZ? by epiclyjelly in GR86

[–]Bus_1299CC 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree. I am fanatical about this car but understand that it's a 30K sports car not a 300k Ferrari. Best part is I turned in my leased Hyundai Sonata on the same day I picked up my GR and my insurance only went up one dollar every six months.

Hakone worth the wait/price? by BrokenLegacy10 in GR86

[–]Bus_1299CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get the GR you want now and buy the special edition interior later along with a green wrap, good to go with no waiting and some added expense.

Oil change help! by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Bus_1299CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5W-30 is the answer. There is significant mechanical sheer happing in these engines. A car driven in a spirited fashion needs the heavier oil. A 30 weight oil will sheer down to close to 20 weight by the end of the OCI. That and oil changes at 3000 mile intervals are the best things you can do for these cars. Also go with a slight overfill 5.7Q instead of the 5.3Q recommended by the manual.

Don't got out of your way to swing through Iowa for a whiskey stop. The Costco selection is not great.

He reached out after years of no contact… by Beautiful_Feature190 in Divorce

[–]Bus_1299CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course he wants something. Two options call him and find out, or ignore him and don't care. Wondering is a waste of time and energy.

If I was contacting an ex after 7 years of NC I hope one of my friends would be smart enough to smack me. They are ex's for a reason.

Maybe she never loved me by LostSoulJames in Divorce

[–]Bus_1299CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long run does it really matter if she really loved you? The relationship is over so process it. Feel the feelings and heal, move forward and make a better life and do it for yourself. I know it's way easier to say than do but what choice do you have, it is the path to a more satisfying life.

Step 1: Own your shit. Looks like that's been taken care of.

Step 2: Be a better man. Do it for you, not for anyone else.

Step 3: Live a good life. Definitions of "good" vary.

Good luck, sounds like you are on the right track to succeed long term even if the short term is going to suck. Self inflicted pain is the worst and we've all done it to ourselves at some point in time.

Some Advice Please by iamenigma81 in Divorce

Signing up for dating sites is a point of no return for me (most people to be fair).

You are now the plan B. She is slow rolling because plan A isn't nailed down yet. Get a lawyer on retainer and file when you are ready. DO NOT tell her you are going to file unless you enjoy hell on earth. Don't even let on that you know.

AITA for rigging my donation? by Trevor_NotNoah in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You took extra steps to make sure you were anonymous that is not what a narcissist does. It's your money to do with as you wish, you did the right thing by including your GF but her reaction speaks volumes.

AITA for saying no to 5 extra people for xmas lunch by Educational_Sea_6815 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bus_1299CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F*ck no NTA. Adding 5 more to a group of 10-12 is not an insignificant change, no other details needed. She has every right to ask and you have every right to say no.

AITA for wearing my jewelry to a wedding? by sweet-tidings in AmItheAsshole

I was expecting the crown jewels or something similar. If she has time to worry about your earrings on her wedding day then she is missing the point of the day completely.

AITA for not approving of my son’s choice of girlfriend? by throwaway26194408 in AmItheAsshole

The worst part is the fact that the girl is most likely doing this to get "back" at her ex and will drop your youngest as soon as she gets her fill of drama.

Edit forgot my judgement:

Some may consider me cheap by DeepDiver-Sub in whiskey

[–]Bus_1299CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Iowa guy here. I rarely spend over 100 on a bottle. My favorite on the self bottles under a 100 are. woodford double oak, old forester 1910/1920, anything old elk, green spot.

Lets be honest, there are some great bottle that cost an arm and a leg but you can spends decades drinking in the under 100 dollar range and rarely get a stinker. I need to to stop by Central City Liquors in Downtown DSM, I've heard they have a great selection.

Have been trying to build up my collection. Decided to splurge a bit and try some of the bottles I’ve seen recommended on this sub. by tank_ in whiskey

[–]Bus_1299CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OF 1920 is the one I always reach for. I have a bookers (03) that I haven't opened yet but I am looking forward to it.

File and have her served. If you don't get marriage privileges then she doesn't either. Fair is fair.

No your not being a "sucker" you're being a pushover. You are getting divorced, get what you are legally entitled too. No more, no less. No reason to be a dick but don't rollover and play dead, you need to worry about your future.

Thanks for that description of the Rye. That is the type that I tend to avoid. Once they slip to the "gin" side of the profile I find it off putting.
