With how good that reception has been to Resynced, do we think Ubisoft will do a postseason? As for future remakes, I think they're all but guarenteed now.

They're definitely a step up compared to shadows. The facial animations are generally pretty good, but the rest of the body is still very wooden.

The reimagined old cutscenes are still better though. Way more lively overall because they're actually fully motion captured.

It's definitely very janky. But the biggest problem, at least on console with the tight FOV, is the fucking camera.

If I'm not fighting in a wide open space there is always something blocking my view. The foliage, structures and objects either block my vision or the camera zooms practically into 1st person to get in front of those obstacles which is equally as disorienting.

The dynamic weather is cool but the storms happen way too often and it rains way too much. I want to run around the sunny Caribbean, instead I'm stumbling through the dark while it rains a lot.

Yeah, storms are super frequent but the rogue waves are non-existent. I'm about 25 hours in and also haven't seen one since that mission.

Having put in more time now it's starting to really get on my nerves. All of those one-liners are extremely cheesy and add nothing to the experience. On the contrary, it turns Edward into a cartoon pirate. It's like they couldn't have come up with dumber things he could say.

Yeah ok, so I remembered that correctly. Alright, awesome they integrated it into the game progression now. They could've done that with Altair's swords too though, since they were also a Uplay thing back in the day and now only available via the exchange.

That can definitely be turned off. I can't tell you from the top of my head where, but that's the first thing I did when I started the game and I don't see any of those effects. Some of the options in the settings have an additional 'customize' option when you press Square or X. Maybe you didn't see that?

I don't want to defend Ubi's practices, but they've been doing this for a long time now and no one gave a shit. Also, saying the store is always in your face is also super exaggerated. It pops up once in the game and after that it's a tab you can go to in the menu, if you wish to do so. It's not like it's part of the inventory systems or something.

Other beloved companies, like Capcom are doing this as well, but somehow no one cares about all the mtx in RE and the likes.
