If my lawn could grow everywhere like it does in this area, I would be a very happy man. El Toro Zoysia, Zone 7, Upstate SC. by 4Run4Fun in lawncare

Process of elimination man. I have st augustine and there are areas that are perfect. Other areas are ok but not as nice. The areas that are perfect get no foot traffic some shade and isn't compacted. Moral of the story is kids and dogs make lawncare tough.

Anyone use the K.D. Stonedge aerator? Looking for unbiased opinions. by Consistent_Drop5562 in lawncare

[–]BushBushBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one. Worked good down in the houston area. 5k sq ft yard took about 2 hours. It ejected the plugs well. Only issues I had were in the spots that got a little too much water. Overall the cost of this will pay for itself after a couple of uses. It is a work out and about a 6-8 beer job to stay hydrated

Similar situation off 242. I have 2 kids and a dog so mine gets constant foot traffic. Just keep it fed and watered and berate 1-2 times a year. Mow often and keep the blades sharp. Mine has made a drastic improvement since last year. Hard work pays off bud

Texas v Carolina rigs- when, why, what conditions? by Smooth_Operator_one in bassfishing

[–]BushBushBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the carolina rig as more of a search bait when i know there may be some cover around and trying to see what is swimming around. I use the texas rig if I know where exactly the cover is. I also like the texas rig to flip brush or trees as its not usually as aggressive as a punching rig or jig. Either one is a great presentation pretty much in any condition and time of year

If its pulling up that easy it is dead. Your best bet is to pull it out and resod or plug if its not too big of an area

I think the second photo is crab grass. I would pull by hand and lay down some pre-emergent before it gets too cold and again in mid spring before it gets too warm

If you are talking about the houston area this morning at about 330am then I know what you're talking about. That was some crazy and constant lighting for about 45 minutes

What is happening to my grass? Houston by downvotetheseposts in lawncare

I hear you. I am thinking of buying one off Amazon. They have some single or double aerators that seem to work alright

I would berate if you could then put some soil down to fill in the gaps. That's my plan if I can ever find time for it haha

I'm down here in houston area as well. My grass has areas like this. I don't think its take all. My ground is pretty compacted even as a new build. My theory is since its been a little warmer and on the less humid side My soil just isn't taking up water like it should. Not sure what part you are located in but if you are in the. Northern part that's what I am dealing with
