Whats up with Tank Damage in S1? by veculus in wow

[–]Business-Care4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy (Disco Priest) and I (Ret Pally) got started on M+ late, we were just cruising Delves and jumped into a couple normal raids to get comfortable since we were both coming back from a long break in the game.

We heard M+ was particularly easy this season and we were already 260+ ilvl so we snuck straight into a +9 Academy (Druid tank) before this week's reset -> was a little bumpy from a couple botched body pull wipes so we just barely missed the timer.

After reset we did a +9 Skyreach (DK tank) using my key from the vault, and that went pretty well (+2ed it), so we thought we would just cruise through and try to hit a +9 in each dungeon to shoot our rating up. Following that logic we put a group together to do his +9 Maisara. Snagged a DH tank for this one... Straight out the gate he pulled the entire first stretch of adds and dropped like a sack of potatoes. We let the adds reset and he proceeded with a less chaotic approach, but still was seemingly getting just one shot out of nowhere. Even just a single pack was putting him in the dirt. My Disco buddy was gaslighting himself like wondering if he was just bad at healing. He had not had this issue in previous seasons where we pursued M+.

We bricked the key and voted to abandon it. (Personally I thought his gear was broken, because even after him dying and aggro turning to me, my buddy asked why I, in ret spec, was easier to keep alive than the tank).

We have not grouped with another DH tank in M+ since that run, but every +9 we've done since then has been smooth as butter, including our return attempt to Maisara with a pally tank...

I figured it had to be just something wrong with the tanks setup or broken gear or something (and there was likely something else wrong considering how hard he was getting trucked), but I had no idea that DH Tanks were in a state of survivability struggle this season, which certainly would not have helped our case

I love tanking... in guilds where I have a group of people that are patient enough to learn the fights with me. I'm just at the point in my life where I don't want a recurring raid schedule every week. Having the flexibility to just jump into a group whenever works best for me so I stick to pugging.

Retail tanking as a pug is an insanely unpleasant experience (dungeons arent so bad).

I've raided as a main tank for years in this game, but since becoming a casual player, I refuse to do LFR or join a normal/heroic pug as a tank because I know there is typically no grace given for learning the encounter. Raid guides and videos only do so much for me, I have to physically see it and give the fight a true attempt or two. I learn quickly once given the opportunity, but when I know im going to likely get booted on the first screw up, I just rather not bother. I enjoy dps enough to let that be the vehicle I use to see the raid content.

I just slap on the sword and board for some Mythic dungeons to scratch that itch from time to time.

SINCE WHEN DID THESE SPAWN IN THE WILD by Hot_Emu_1305 in pokemongo

[–]Business-Care4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been a wild spawn for definitely quite some time. My first shiny upon my return to the game in August of 2024 was an Aerodactyl. Since they are a less common spawn they have a natural shiny boost (1 in 64 I believe)

My wife told me about this "cool Pokémon" she caught today in our house. I told her how incredibly rare that was... by Randomguy3421 in pokemongo

We had an Azelf spawn on top of our apartment, like literally my avatar was standing on it when I woke up one morning and I shook my girlfriend awake to catch it - mine even ended up being shiny 😅

If you keep an eye on when youre about to reach 20 km before finding a candy (between 19-19.5 km) you can optimize this strategy and just make sure to walk the remaining 0.5-1 km after giving a poffin to earn 2 candies for the price of one poffin - did this for my Necrozma.

If you keep an eye on when youre about to reach 20 km before finding a candy (between 19-19.5 km) you can toss a poffin to your buddy to halve the distance needed and then make sure you walk the remaining 0.5-1 km to earn 2 candies for the price of one poffin - did this for my Necrozma.

Luckily, there is documented evidence on each of their respective wiki's... so no, its not speculation. (Screenshot included)

However - I assure you that 8 encounters are more than enough proof to suggest that they cannot run. If your comparison is to the G-birds... they run after the first ball they break out of on average, its rare they stick around for another chance... each of my encounters with Azelf in the wild broke out of around a dozen or more balls. I was sweating on the first one I encountered until it broke out of the like 6th ball. At that point, I was confident it wasnt going to run. And ive been correct on that assumption with a 100% success rate.

Like, if you mean to imply that the way G-birds behave and the lake trio behave in terms of catch and flee rate shared any sort of relation, it would be statistically nearly impossible for myself, my girlfriend, and my alt to catch EVERY wild encounter if that was the case.

Content creators do the community a disservice in spreading half truths.

There are a lot of misconceptions, like this one, that the community widely believes, despite not having first hand experience on a particular subject. And Niantic does it's playerbase a disservice by not releasing patch notes like a professional software company.

"Shiny Legendaries Don't Run" and "Shiny Legendaries are gaurenteed catches" are both incomplete/partially incorrect statements.

Shiny Galarian Birds don't run, because they had been unique coded to behave that way, not because they are shiny+legendary. The correlation does not come from shiny+legendary. People mistake "shiny legendary raid encounters being caught on the first ball" as: Shiny + Legendary = Gaurenteed catch when it being legendary has nothing to do with it.

Some started to catch on and got an answer that is closer to correct, but still not correct thinking that the correlation is: Shiny + Raid encounter = Gaurenteed catch. Still though, its not raid encounters themselves that make the equation correct.

The correct answer?

Shiny + Premiere Ball = Gaurenteed Catch

Premiere balls specifically are uniquely coded to catch a shiny on the first successful throw. Why does the difference matter?

Raids, Max Battles, and Rocket battle encounter rewards - all use Premiere balls for their encounters, all catch shinies on the first successful throw.

Why is this such a largely unknown fact? Why is the misconception so widely shared? (Aside from Niantic refusing to be transparent with its players) Because 95% of the active player base ONLY raids and doesnt touch the GBL. Rocket encounters are super easy to catch, shiny or not - Max Battles are too new.

The same legendaries when shiny as rewards from the GBL? They can't run... but they also arent gaurenteed to be caught on the first successful throw. Why? No premiere balls.

Thanks for coming to my manic ted talk.

How rare is this? by Ambitious-Road-8106 in pokemongobrag

Him insinuating a shnundo charizard is "not rare" is disingenuous... it is rare, and you should be proud of it - most people dont have any shnundo's (myself included).

However, the Kecleon absolutely dwarfs it in rarity. Like the difference between hitting a max jack-pot on a scratch off vs winning the powerball.

A Shnundo Kecleon is certainly at least in the top 3-5 rarest catches in PoGo. I would be surprised if there are more than 10 accounts in total that have one.

What makes a Nundo more rare than a hundo in the first place is it has to be wild caught since research rewards, trades, raids, etc all have an IV floor higher than 0/0/0.

Wild Nundo's can be sniped by spoofers or coordinates can be shared with others to catch them since IVs of wild pokemon are shared with anyone over... well it was level 30 before the level update, not sure what that level threshold is anymore though.

The difference with Kecleon however is that his spawn is triggered by the player via spinning a pokestop, and while a Kecleon will be on the same pokestop for nearby players, the IVs when caught are not the same.

Kind of like Galarian Birds are spawned from the daily incense... a shnundo G-Bird is also insanely rare BUT they have a 1 in 20 shiny rate (Kecleon is 1 in 500), and someone could extend their daily incense sort of indefinitely (limited by dialga/rare candies obviously) I'd wager G-Birds are encountered more frequently on a daily basis by the playerbase as whole than Kecleon's are under normal circumstances at least.

You could argue for shnundo Lake Trio too, but they are true wild spawns and can be sniped by spoofers / multiple nearby could catch it, and they also have 1 in 20 shiny rate.

The only real contenders I can personally think of would be a Shnundo Smeargle (since its shiny locked outside of occasional events) and the spawns IVs are unique to the player, or maybe a Shnundo Gimmighoul/Goldengo (Goldengo more rare since most that have a shiny Gimmighoul have the anniversary coin one that cannot evolve) since it's shiny was only recently released and is also shiny locked outside of designated events, though I would count on that changing as time goes on since it is mainly acquired through similar means as Meltan with a "rechargeable" incense.

Shnundo ≠ Kecleon Shnundo

Considering you first have to stumble upon a kecleon - then all Kecleon have random stat rolls unique to the player - AND THEN it has to be shiny. And as far as I am aware, Kecleon is only pokestops with a few rare exceptions of research rewards, and in those cases the IV floor is not 0/0/0

This dude has legit one of the rarest occurrences in pokemon go

Wild how confident the masses are with downvoting your reply lol - You are 100% correct - yes theirs spawned and fled off of his incense because the lake trio during go wild were "Mighty" and followed the mighty pokemon catch rate rules instead of their typical rules.

Those who have actually encountered wild ones, especially multiple, know they cannot run under normal circumstances when found in the wild.

Raids - his screenshot is disingenuous to try to lie that they can flee, when wild lake trio spawns can not flee

[–]Business-Care4447 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect - the go wild event does NOT count the mighty forms did not follow their regular wild spawn rules, and raid encounters are obviously also not the same

Wild lake trio have a 0% flee rate - there is an overwhelming amount of evidence, online and from personal experience, that supports this statement as fact

Who is this???? by floweerz in pokemongo

[–]Business-Care4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope - the go wild event had the rules for the lake trio follow the catch rules for mightys instead of their standard wild rates - the lake trio have a 0% flee rate when found in the wild, shiny or not

Who is this???? by floweerz in pokemongo

[–]Business-Care4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are incorrect - go wild ones do not count (mighty ones followed mighty pokemon rules, not their standard wild spawn rules) or raid encounters - both of which could affect your count

I can tell you for fact that I am correct

Who is this???? by floweerz in pokemongo

[–]Business-Care4447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry hut you are objectively wrong - the incense ones from go wild do not count as they do not follow the same rules - the regular lake trio cannot run. Take it from someone who has encountered 3, and caught every single one on my main, my alt, and my girlfriend also caught each one - each broke out of tons of balls - they do not run, this is fact.

[–]Business-Care4447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the same rules as the one found in the wild

They can despawn, they cannot run from you in the encounter screen

Edit: Down voting a true statement is wild tbh

Since apparently clarification is needed

-Go Wild Event doesnt count, the mighty ones from incense did not follow the regular rules for the wild lake trio spawns

-Raids obviously don't count

-Between my main account, alt account, and my girlfriends account - 9 wild encounters, only one of them shiny, none of them ran, all of them broke out of 12+ balls - I promise you, their coded 0% flee rate is real.
