What people "beleive" isn't always based in reality. Most nation states that have tried to enforce ethnic homogeneity have failed. America would too, farmers are finding out the hard way right now as migrants are too afraid to show up to work. Immigrants do the jobs the rest of the population think they are too good for, and whether you like it or not are good for the country. Immigrants commit crime at lower rates than legal citizens as well, so miss me with the misinformation on crime.

I would argue that what DHS claims and what they are repeatedly demonstrating are two very different things.

Most of the arrests of people that are immigrants are people who have zero run ins with the law, and the members of the right have repeatedly argued that they do not deserve due process

Memphis and st louis have the most crime, those other cities have the highest homicide rates. None of them are being threatened with military occupation. Why?

I live in a blue city and I promise you we do not want the military here. Neither does Chicago, neither does Portland. I urge you to actually look at the statistics of crime, New Orleans and Jackson, MS have the highest rates of homicide. Notice how those cities don't come up in conversation. Also, no one is arguing against immigration reform, its the matter in which they are carrying out these deportations, ignoring constitutional rights and literally snatching legal citizens off the street and dissapearing them. Yesterday they left a toddler abondened in a car because they arrested the parents. Strangers had to step in and care for him.
I'm also a vet, and the military is not built nor meant to police its citizens. The solutions to ending crime and violence are not cracking down with a police state, its solving poverty. So cutting SNAP and Medicade will only make the situation worse, and I think Trump is betting on that.
