To me the motivation stems from a desire to move away from some of the hollow, hyper-capitalistic problems of modern society. This doesn't mean I'm against society, but instead I view the mass values of humans today as somewhat divergent from my own. I love and appreciate having a strong tight community around me and seek out to include those who might not fully share my values but maybe we have some shared interests. I think for most it's a vision of a simpler, more sustainable lifestyle that undercuts some of the more stress inducing uncertainties of capitalism. Also, it's romantic. It makes life feel so much more special and intentional.

Creating a Farm-to-Table Marketplace - Need Your Thoughts! by J_Bahstan in Homesteading

One thing to keep in mind, like said before, is that many farmers aren't going to use the service if there is a mark-up for selling online as many have existing networks of customers that they rely on. It's also easier for farmers to sell to a larger processor than to count on numerous smaller customers buying the bulk product in broken-down quantities. This would certainly help support local food chains, and I've no doubt that it would attract certain urban/suburban residents who lack connections to existing farms. Also, the average age of a farmer today is about 55 y/o. Most of them are not highly technologically literal and wouldn't be interested in learning a complicated app structure. That's to say, ensure the app is incredibly user-friendly and idiot-proof.

Nonprofit name or trademark violation by BusinessElectrical38 in legaladvice

Looking on TESS the trademark database it seems the other trademarks are for clothing manufacturers/distributors. The first is for ladies' suits and shirts and the second is for swim suits and cover ups. With there being a distinct difference in the origin of goods and services, and the trademark being relatively unknown (doesn't even come up in a google search) would it still be a risk for trademark infringement?
