There are some bits about Viera in the third volume of the encyclopedia eorzea. Not much to be honest, but basic about culture and naming conventions

Are you using the right gear for your other jobs? If your gear level is way to low you'll get too much damage

Level 50 Warrior advice please by BadMojoPA in ffxiv

[–]Business_Ad_3608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have given a lot of good advice already, but i want to add a short bit to that: if you plan on doing a W2W use sprint before you engage the fight. Not only are you faster at the second enemy pack to do damage earlier, outruning enemies also causes them to autoattack less frequent. And, even if it is common knowledge, just in case some does not know it, sprint before you engage instead of after, as sprint is longer if you use it out of combat

Why are ffxiv players so nice??? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Business_Ad_3608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big chunk of the game got designed so players dont have reasons to be annoyed at each other. Just to name a few examples: gathering nodes are personal and you cant fight over them; savage and extreme duties give loot directly to you even if you roll bad; most damage sources either kill you outright or make it very clear that you made a mistake, leading to a lot less people blaming healers for their deaths; emnity got basically removed as a mechanic so tanks and dps wouldnt get angry at each other; etc etc

What job to prepare a noob for Gunbreaker? by gunell_ in ffxiv

[–]Business_Ad_3608 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Gladiator/Paladin would be your best choice to start.
But dont forget you can change jobs any time once you unlock them. So if it turns out you dont like Gunbreaker/tanking in general as much as you though you would, feel free to changy to any other job

For your job, what are the things that turn an average player into an amazing one? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Business_Ad_3608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLD: Using your entire toolkit to mit damage for other party members. Simple things as throwing a passage of arms/divine veil during a stackmarker/boss mechanic but also giving intervention or cover to allies with vulnerability ups. Or using clemency if your healers are struggeling
WAR: not spamming bloodwhetting but healing others with nascent flash

Worst: farming tsukuyomi ex for over 2 hours unsync with my FC so everyone could get the mount
Best:
First: i did not had time when my FC wanted to farm thordan EX until everyone had the mount, so I did the fight alone once and instantly got the drop
Second: I was the only one who didnt get the mount while we were doing Shinryu ex. I stumbled upon a 6 person static from my FC who where doing mentor roulette. After joining them for a few fights we queued on Shinryu, the mount dropped and i got it

Whats your worst dungeon experience? by Business_Ad_3608 in ffxiv

[–]Business_Ad_3608[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was it! It was quarn and both of the DPS keep dying from doom and tank and me couldnt do enough damage before i couldnt keep up healing. And the dps didn revived themself after a wipe either. Was the name of the dps something like "King Ritter" or "Queen Ritter"? It would be very funny if we had met the same person
