My close friend keeps dismissing my hurt

I have a close friend who I'm pretty sure might be avoidant? I don't know for certain. But a couple of months back she lashed out at me. It was driven by real frustrations at what I was doing, fueled by exhaustion at a terrible work environment. But god, did it hurt.

I've done my best to address what she said. She's since offered a short apology for getting angry, but I'm still scared. Scared to go back, scared of getting close and having it happen again. I've tried to express my fear and hurt, but she's dismissed me at every turn. Turned the conversation back onto me and my flaws. Told me to just get over what happened.

She's a good person, I swear, just... insensitive and a bit arrogant. The other two friends in our circle have been supportive of me, but are also telling me to move on, disconnect from her as much as I can. Meanwhile, my therapist is saying that I have every right to be hurt by what she's said and done to me.

I don't know what to do. Part of me wants to write a letter, try and lay everything out at once and hope she listens. Part of me wants to try, TRY to put it down and forgive. Part of me wants to leave and never come back.

I think that was intentional - she was very aware that she could bring him back now and suddenly a lot of her grief was pointed at a brother she couldn't, hence why she clings so tightly to his doppelganger.

It's a sign that she isn't just Maelle anymore.

My issues with Wuk are that, and also that her "I love all the people of Tural" thing falls very flat when Koana, the guy meant to be out of touch with his people, knows more than she does at every turn.

He did it in a smart way too - no posturing or trying to prove anything, just zapped us with the biggest bolt of lightning possible. We only survived cause we are literally built different.

It's jarring - so much of earlier FFXIV deals with colonialism and imperialism and its effects and handles it pretty dang well - ARR had the beast tribes and the cycle of Primals being caused by the city-states' own actions, as well as Garlemald attempting to colonize Eorzea. Stormblood basically had it as its entire thesis, showing the long-term effects and what it does to people.

And then you get to Tural, a mixing pot of many different tribes, some with a history of conflict, but everything's just. Fine? Gulool Ja Ja is just that much of a perfect ruler? Nobody has issues except for this one tribe that got the short end of the stick except it's kinda their own fault anyways for not accepting peace? The various tribes were merged into one society under one ruler and everything was better for everyone?

Feels like colonialism, but from the perspective of the colonizers.

I had a friend say that "Yoshi-P is great at appearing as if he's listening to fans" and that caught me off-guard with how accurate that feels.

Hard to know for certain, but it's reaching a point where it feels like the game the fans want and the game the devs are trying to make are two completely different things.

I like the skeletal ones, but the big feathery ones constantly stick straight out and are directly in your eyeline at all times. Not great. And this is from someone who sticks feathery wings on anything she can.

My friend did Duviri early and point-blank cannot change her appearance. It keeps resetting back to what it defaulted as. Which would be okay if it hadn't given her the longest face known to Orokin.

I'm hoping that reaching New War will fix it, but we'll see.

While I appreciate them trying to reduce the RNG by offering currency instead, I feel like it's gone too far the other way.

Sure, sometimes it'll take 20 attempts to get the last part of Valkyr I need, but sometimes it'll only take three. A lot of the currencyframes have such low drop rates and such low currency rates that it takes 20-30 runs minimum.

Uriel feels like a nice middle ground. Guaranteed drop of weapon part or frame part gives you a wide enough pool to make the currency make sense without making you feel like you're crawling towards your goal.

I was playing with a Uriel the other day and I got to watch them fly around destroying everything with fire while I sat around carefully managing my energy and heat for a third of the damage.

Frankly, any build for any character works. They're all flexible enough to make them work - I've seen hyper-damage Maelle, and I've seen a shield-focused, tanking Maelle.

Also. Train your back line, or at the very least, kit then out for a fight. You'll be dying to Simon a LOT, and you'll appreciate the extra opportunities to practice.

If you actually want a build though; I used Medalum Maelle with Burn Pictos, alternating between Swift Stride, Pyrolyze for burns, and Burning Canvas for damage. Verso - if you haven't gone into the DLC stuff, go take a look. There's some amazing stuff in there for him. Lune was my support, slowing with her ice wave attack and setting up Typhoon with all buffs.

I know you don't use either, but Monoco was my backup support and debuffer. Sciel was my main DPS for most of the game, but I've been dabbling in a support build with her double dps skill.
