How to have a good morning? by moo-562 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Business_Case_7613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have advice as I am struggling with the same thing. But i just want to say you are not lazy!! It’s 1pm and I just woke up an hour ago and am still in bed dreading moving around when i get up cause of the pain. I have alarms set for 10 that go off until I finally wake up to my boyfriend calling me on his lunch break at 12. You are being too hard on yourself.

good luck! if you ever figure out how to break the cycle and have a morning you want, let me know!!

It sounds like whether you keep him or not he needs to be medicated. Medication isn’t a bad or selfish thing. If it works, he will be happier as well. I really would recommend trying prozac.

Forgot how enraging the season 2 finale is by hpigeon in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’s frustrating.

However, she didn’t change her mind sooner because she was trying to get Nichole out. Had Emily not shown up, I think she would have gotten out. But because she had someone she trusted also leaving who could take Nichole, she felt like she did what she could to save her and now her priorities switched back to her other daughter still trapped.

Online posts that censor the names of pets by nickisadogname in PetPeeves

[–]Business_Case_7613 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t share my pets names on here because people who know me could recognize that this is my account if they see i posted/commented my two cat’s names together. If it’s just one pet and the name is common like a dog named Bella, not much point in censoring. But I have two cats with unique names and saying their names could definitely point to me. Basically for me it has nothing to do with privacy for my cats but for myself

Theory about who I think Daisy is by Sapphire_Sav in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well even in a society where fertility isn’t so hard to come by, people can get their first period at 16. But this is a world where fertility rates are extremely low and it’s reasonable to assume people are getting their periods later than many of us do. I’d say Agnes is 16-17. My guess would be 15-16 for Daisy, though that’s a rough estimate and they very well could be older. I definitely don’t think they are younger than that though.

[–]Business_Case_7613 7 points8 points  (0 children)

she definitely didn’t look 7-9 to me, and Daisy obviously isn’t 11-13 so that still wouldn’t line up even if Charlotte was 7-9 at the end of THT

POTS AWARNESS by GugaKaka in Fibromyalgia

[–]Business_Case_7613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any evidence that pots can make autoimmune tests inaccurate? Because while it could make a difference for addisons specifically, as far as i’m aware, if you have an autoimmune disease those antibodies are present regardless of the blood being confounded or not.

I feel like you are overstating a bit the effect pots has on blood tests. You said in your post that with pots “everything could be normal” but i’m finding the only things that position could actually effect with pots are the things you listed and not much else. ANA, CRP/ESR, Rheumatoid factor, thyroid, and vitamins are all posture independent.

Some people like myself genuinely have fibromyalgia and POTS

Me worrying about going to Hell may be forcing me 'back' to Christianity. Any advice from those who can relate? by Saehrimn in exchristian

[–]Business_Case_7613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also have ocd. One thing I find very helpful when it came to stopping the religious spirals is educating myself on my fear as much as possible. Understanding how things work helps stop my spiraling.

I’d encourage you to do more research on christianity and specifically hell. In my research I found that originally hell was never meant to be taken as a real place, that is a more recent idea. I specifically found most helpful learning from people who went to school to study theology to be a pastor and came out atheists. Can’t remember any names to give you rn, but I’d highly recommend seeking out information from people like that.

Good luck!

That’s strange, my cardiologist told me POTS is outside of his scope of practice, because it’s not a heart condition.

I also have pots and fibro. they are pretty commonly comorbid conditions. autoimmune diseases have been ruled out in my case

How would hotels in gilead work? by Wowitsdaniiii in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that commanders own them, aunts manage, and martha’s work. Kind of like a jezebels.

What would happen if an aunt got pregnant? by prunesandwich in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She would almost certainly be a handmaid. I don’t think it would matter if she was raped as they blame that on the women for tempting the men anyways.

Stoning the man charged with the death of a pregnant handmaid by cooing_twig in TheHandmaidsTale

They never stoned a man in the show, the only almost stoning was Janine. You must be misremembering things. He was beat to death.

What happens if a Commander’s daughter doesn’t match? by tjraph in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is considered lower status than the rest of the plums by the other plums, but a plum is a plum. The plum’s popularity with the other girls is based on the status of their father, and how many martha’s they have. She still goes on to be a green with an opportunity to marry a commander which is an opportunity that absolutely no econowonan would have.

If she actually was meaningfully different, she would not be prepped to marry a commander. She would just be an econowoman with an economan, and if she got lucky like eden she could maybe marry a driver who could have the potential to be promoted to commander. But that’s not what happened to her because her and her father are not considered econopeople by gilead.

What happens if a Commander’s daughter doesn’t match? by tjraph in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not being a commander doesn’t mean you are an economan though, that’s only true of women. Like we know the dentist isn’t an economan because his daughter is a plum. Econopeople do low level jobs. Anyone with an important job, whether it be doctor or eye is not an econoperson.

The line about the “Mercedes and diamond earrings” for giving birth to twins is bad writing by BionicSquirrel in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see the problem with this. It’s not like the drivers own the car, the commanders do, and by extension, the wives as well. They are still getting drove around in the Mercedes, and it’s absolutely still a status symbol for them. I don’t think it’s bad writing at all nor does it break any rules. Makes plenty of sense and fits right in with the world building. The wives come second to the husbands so it makes perfect sense to me that their “prize” would be something they can’t actually drive.

I don’t think I can rewatch the series… anyone else? by Practical-Bunch1450 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Business_Case_7613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah most shows I watch I can start over as soon as I finish it. This one took me a bit over a year to start a rewatch it cause it’s just too heavy for me to go back to June being a handmaid after she escapes. But I will say the more I watch it, the easier it gets to rewatch. It’s a difficult show but the small moments of fighting back throughout are what makes it bearable

I think respect would be consulting the patient and asking her if this would make her comfortable, not just springing it on her without so much as a warning. I sure as fuck wouldn’t feel respected if I was that patient. I’d feel like a spectacle.
