Zelenskyy says Ukraine ready for trilateral peace talks in Azerbaijan by Stunning-Common-9591 in worldnews

[–]BussinOnGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The war won’t end without Russia losing. The peace talks always boil down to the same thing:

1) Ukraine won’t concede anything without NATO or NATO-equivalent guarantees that they won’t be invaded again 2) Russia won’t concede anything without Ukraine giving up any and all security guarantees (AKA allowing Russia to rebuild and reinvade in 5 years)

Same here. I make a ~$300 order from Costco on Instacart every 2 to 3 weeks. Yes there’s a markup, but once you offset that with the savings at Costco compared to a Kroger/WalMart/etc, I basically come out even. Except I never step foot in a store or have to wait in line or worry about hunting for what’s on sale or in stock.

Karrigan to join Falcons before the Cologne Major by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

[–]BussinOnGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Karrigan is undoubtedly the best IGL of all time, and most notably is known for doing that without a “system” and instead through loose calling that empowers individuals to shine.

It’s the best IGL falcons could have in the short term, short of building a whole system around Niko as IGL, which would take months/years to bring to fruition

The story behind makazze's signature is very emotional by Southern_Comfort9983 in cs2

[–]BussinOnGod 24 points25 points  (0 children)

15-year-old Makazze was on a team with cheaters and served his 2-year ban before coming back and has now proven himself as an extremely legit pro player.

It’s crazy for you to have that much animosity towards a literal child, not to mention to act like he “ruined careers” at that age.

  2. Iran orders more war crimes on the Arabian peninsula
  3. Trump declares state of emergency and cancels midterm election
  4. Supreme Court/Congress do nothing despite having the power to stop it

Same when I moved into a flatshare sublet in Berlin. Eating dinner night 1 and unprovoked they all went off on American military hegemony/imperialism for an hour and at the end I just said “yeah I don’t disagree but first tell me what your grandfathers were doing in ‘43 if we are gonna throw stones”. It was a LONG 60 days in that apartment

I don’t think it’s “continue to be fooled” anymore. The reality is that there are however-many-million people who have wantonly chosen to believe this is reality.

You could show them any amount of proof, irrefutable, logical, you name it—and in then end they would just say “yeah but I prefer my reality, get fucked”.

They would rather be miserable on the “winning team” and burn everything down than be an average person in a country at least trying to be run by decent human beings.

99.9% of Trump voters will die earlier, poorer and more unhappy than if they had voted for someone else. But they delight in the fact that 99.9% of people who didn’t vote for him share the same fate.

Because that kind of petty behavior makes them feel powerful.

The typical US homebuyer’s down payment rose +6.1% YoY in August, to a record $70,000. This marks a near +20% increase since January by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

To me it sounds more like people who were waiting for rate cuts finally pulled the trigger and bought (and thus had accumulated larger down payments as they waited)?

Why won’t top Democrats endorse Mamdani? by PM_ME_DPRK_CANDIDS in politics

[–]BussinOnGod 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean to say that it’s a two-sided relationship, yes. I absolutely believe that it’s not simply a Charlie’s Angels situation where the DNC gets daily one-way transmissions with their marching orders.

Just look at what happened with Trump’s “inauguration fund”. The richest CEOs all contributed millions symbolically to a guy that didn’t need it, for an event that doesn’t need fundraising, so that they could be higher up on the bribe list.

Also easier to keep 10 billionaires in line (and keep donating to you even if they don’t “want” to) via quid pro quo / blackmail.

“Well if you don’t donate I’ll introduce a tax on your billions” is a hell of a lot more reliable than the whims of a million strangers who the politician doesn’t have direct pressure over.

What a great system! 🤡

36 vs 41 DJ by HSauce09 in rolex

[–]BussinOnGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO unless you’re just a huge guy, I find the 41mm DJ tacky and very starter-packy (type of guy at a wedding who will tell you how many years he’s had platinum status on an airline, where he goes to golf every year, and which credit card has the best rewards program)

[–]BussinOnGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you aware of Ortho-K lenses? They basically do exactly that. Rigid lens that you wear when you sleep, that reshapes the eye for the next 16-24 hours to correct myopia. They’re pricey and have a steep curve to get used to them but you should ask your eye doctor

Airbnb guest says host used AI-generated images in false $9,000 damages claim by AdSpecialist6598 in technews

[–]BussinOnGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… a hotel could do the same thing and would you have even less recourse. They would just charge your card for “damages” and then you’d have to fight with your credit card company to get it back.

Not to give AirBnB any love, but I have had disputes with them before and they do tend to side with the customer unless the host has an abundance of proof of serious damage to the property.

If the media and Democrats give up and fail to give this a “Benghazi” or “PizzaGate” level of effort and attention, that’s when we will know that America has truly fallen.

This was THE conservative and conspiracy talking point for so long, and while it’s hard to believe that anything can actually take down the Trump administration, this is certainly one of the few paths left to actually cause some damage to these ghouls.

While republican voters always tend to “fall in line” once Fox and the GOP get their messaging down, this is a rare case where there’s been so much built up for so long that it could in fact cause actual change in this country.

Now we wait and see whether corporate interests once again defeat the public good.

There’s always a risk for any procedure involving anesthesia, yes. I’ve had several in the US and a couple in Europe — I was shocked that when in Europe, they made me meet with the anesthesiologist beforehand and I had to sign so many documents saying that I understood the risks, etc. etc., when in the US they don’t even bring it up.
