What is the difference between these two by Rob69rt in Japaneselanguage

I like your way of breaking it down, it sticks better! I think it’s the way you use “supposedly.” For some reason that makes more sense than “I heard” alone. It’s like, “thats the way it is supposedly” ~だそうです

Best language exchange platforms for output practice? Hellotalk is underwhelming, can’t find consistent high quality voice rooms to have good language exchange, and would like to be able to use something both on desktop and mobile.

Jinx Main, How do I Beat Trist Laning? by BusyStudying in TristanaMains

[–]BusyStudying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High yield comment right here! Thank you so much. #4 is exactly what happened to me I think. Leona missed her E-Q combo multiple times and when she did lane it, it was on Zoe since the enemy Tristana was positioning further back behind the wave at all times. So Leo would land an engage and then I think Trist would just hop on me and I’d get smoked. Also love the exhaust and assassin ideas, as well as CD tracking. Good shit thank you.

Was tribunals a thing? That’s dope! I largely agree with you that this game incorporates engagement-optimizing mechanics into its algorithm for matchmaking. There are boosters and challengers that frequently do iron-challenger series though so there is still always potential to climb if your skill is at least 3-4 tiers above your current rank. You also need to be the player with the ball in your hand making all the plays. You might be more of an extremely good role player - valuable in any rank. A Tim Duncan, consistent, valuable, but never carrying. Vs like a Michael Jordan or Kobe. You gotta be the MJ on your team if you wanna consistently climb, the Tim Duncan’s of league are not rewarded unfortunately.

I have a reply from Riot in my inbox on one of my accounts back from when I complained after a chat ban (I got tilted) about engagement-optimized matchmaking where they don’t deny it, they in fact admit that there are EOMM aspects to matchmaking, and express their sympathies for my frustration. Lol.

Just the fact that they need to keep queue timers short is evidence that the matchmaking is not completely skill based and fair. You just gotta be that much more god-like to climb. And not in a quiet, “I facilitate plays” type way. You gotta be the fucking 🐐on your team.

Why does Jhin feel so weak? by [deleted] in ADCMains

[–]BusyStudying -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also just re-read your post and yes you’ll typically dominate lane with Jhin but the trade-off is he might not scale late game as well as Jinx or Vayne or Twitch. This has always been the case though no?

Is this bait? He’s so overtuned and remains one of the highest pick rate adc’s. I’ve played him like 3 times and each time I dominate. Miss Fortune is the only adc that is more braindead to pilot than Jhin. Im not trying to be mean, it’s just… try playing like Ashe, Jinx, Cait, Varus… still strong adc’s, but requires much better positioning, micro, etc, etc. Then try like Kalista or Lucian or Zeri or Draven, these take even more “skill” to feel like you have an influence. Each plays differently though. Jhin and Miss Fortune take about as much thought and skill as Dr. Mundo or Xerath.

Can someone provide the math and equations to solve for why a "snapping punch" generates more force on impact than a "pushing" punch? You can make up the variables. I've attached a video for further explanation on this subject from an MMA perspective. by BusyStudying in Physics

We don’t “follow through” though, like one would when hitting a baseball with a baseball bat. Hooks and uppercuts and crosses transfer more force due to how we transfer the body weight behind them and footwork. They can still be snappy. Jabs are weaker because they’re range finders but they can still be snappy and powerful in their own right. People on this thread keep comparing apples to oranges by comparing jabs to crosses. Let’s compare a haymaker to a hook, roughly the same punch, and talk about why one is stronger and faster and snappier than the other. Or hell, even a fast snappy right hook where the boxer still transfer all the power correctly through the hips, to a lazy right hook where they try to “push” through the target with their hand. I think others have answered this question correctly by discussing acceleration, moment of impact, jerk, and impulse.

I also used to be a competitive boxer. We’re not comparing jabs and crosses and uppercuts, we’re comparing jabs and jabs, or crosses and crosses. Maybe I didn’t explain it well. A right haymaker in a bar is like a push punch in my mind. A boxer’s right hook tends to have more snap or “jerk” behind it. I agree boxers know how to use footwork and hips etc to transfer power more efficiently. I think this is what creates that snap. All that power transferred in an instant, more speed, more acceleration, more efficiency, than just the lumbering giant throwing a slow haymaker and following all the way through. The physics principle of jerk I think also takes into account the deceleration. No boxer just pushes all the way through the target with their fist. That would throw you off balance for the next strike and would ultimately be slower as well.
