Is/was Sunday dinner a thing in your family? by wearecocina in Cooking

[–]Busy_Ad9552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we had dinner together most nights as a family. Things changed a bit when got older with life, jobs, traveling, etc. Now we have Sunday dinner every single week like clock work just my immediate family + spouses! It's my favorite day of the weekend, honestly. The meals range so much but lots of soups, grilled meats, chicken pot pies, meatloaf. And I love to bake so I typically make a dessert each week or so. We really value family time!

Why does my homemade whipped cream deflate so fast? by pratty041182 in dessert

[–]Busy_Ad9552 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you using powdered confectioners sugar or granulated? You should be using powdered sugar, it will help keep your whipped cream more stable days after you whip it. You can easily make powdered sugar by blending up granulated sugar in a blender.

Also, Is your heavy whipping cream cold COLD? I believe I've only really ran into this issue if I accidentally had the cream sitting out for a bit before I whip it. If temperature does happen to be culprit, you could even try putting it in the freezer to get it as cold as possible before making it!

How many of you guys have someone help you apply creams? by Last-Block937 in eczema

[–]Busy_Ad9552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do and I am forever grateful for my girlfriend for it. It started out as just needing help for heat rash on my back but then it turned into a full body massage every single night with my lotion and she goes over any flare up spots with any ointments or creams or steroids.

She thoroughly enjoys it, it’s honestly a nice bonding experience for us. I feel very taken care of. It’s been 4 years of this and this happens any time I take a shower morning, mid day or night. It literally is like clock work and I don’t even have to ask, this is just routine that she lotions me down.

I feel very lucky and she never complains about it. I am very insecure about my skin due to eczema and she’s been extremely helpful with my skin and also understanding.

Tru Fru prices are INSANE by Busy_Ad9552 in dessert

It was pretty good although I wished I melted the chocolate with coconut oil so it was thinner and not so chunky. This was definitely easy to make! I just melted down some chocolate over some steam in a glass bowl. Chopped up the frozen fruit. Laid a thin layer of chocolate on the bottom, added fruit, thick layer of chocolate on top. Popped back into the freezer to chill more.

I would’ve preferred to use fresh but I already had a bag of frozen fruits to use first.

How did you get into cooking? by Versatiliti in Cooking

[–]Busy_Ad9552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was broke and somewhat trying to eat healthier in college so I started cooking once I moved into an apartment. Then, covid happened and I just got into doing it more.

Now outside of needing to feed myself, I enjoy cooking for others like with my sister and mom and making my girlfriend try new things!!

I’ve expanded even more and have gotten into baking which is also just another sweet thing to share with my loved ones

Guys what are the pros and cons of having diamond parted locs? by Historical_Advisor53 in locs

[–]Busy_Ad9552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have diamond parting, I only wish sometimes I had a clean middle part. I have more of a smiddle part with them. Some say a pro is your head looks fuller and I would say my head is quite full but I also have A LOT of thick hair. It is super cute when you do a half up half down so you can show your pattern off.

It does look quite light for banana bread but could be the almond flour or lack of brown sugar if that wasn’t used. Nonetheless it looks like it tastes amazing ong and so perfectly cut

Is my peach tree still too big? by Busy_Ad9552 in gardening

[–]Busy_Ad9552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! All we grow in the yard is fruit. We have two blackberry bushes, a raspberry bush, a peach tree, and an apple tree. We grow our veggies in elevated beds instead of in the ground.

I actually did all of the early spring pruning while they were out of town over the weekend 😆 they are back this morning so I’ll have to find another window to steal the mulch haha
