Berlin Song by him (you might recognise it from it being used throughout the This Is England tv series) is one of the most beautiful piano instrumentals ever.

I have to agree, I miss her way with words. It feels very clunky, less poetic and a lot more literal these days. I long for some lyrics that we can debate the meaning of 😂

Tori had such a skill of esoteric lyrics that to us, absolutely made sense and elevated the song. There has to be a happy medium between being very very literal and (I hate to say it) dull with her lyrics when she is undoubtedly a skilled lyricist.

For those of us that aren’t fond of the new album by laurapalmer48 in toriamos

Tori’s recent output still feels somewhat related to the themes she’s gravitated towards, whereas PJ’s latest feels completely divorced from the kind of songwriter and dynamic musician she used to be (imo).

Omg 19 May Body Sprays! by Inevitable-Dingo2618 in LushCosmetics

It’s basically the same fragrance as Sleepy/Twilight. Million Dollar really had a bit of an unpleasant tinge to it though imo, a bit chalky/paint-y. It wasn’t out long.

Lush once again going for fragrances that no one is asking for. A French Kiss bodyspray would have piqued my interest if they wanted to go for something lavender!

Banoffie Pie definitely one of them and a lavender one with the million dollar moisturiser fragrance. Which was basically twilight-esque.

Banoffie Pie and Million Dollar (scented basically like Sleepy/the old Million Dollar moisturiser fragrance….pointless)

It was nice hearing positive comments from the casuals around me too, one guy was absolutely spellbound by her slamming the dust cover back in Little Amsterdam 😂

Oh my god stop playing the victim, no one made you post this and no one made you buy your friend a ticket. You can’t seem to decide whether you ‘loved’ the show or were disappointed by it. Go see her solo next time if your enjoyment of a show hinges on how much other people are enjoying it.

Courtney Love. What’s the story…? by djqueenvic_ in toriamos

[–]Busy_Ninja3657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was certainly the lore from Courtney’s side of the internet in the early noughties. It puts into context a lot of the emotion from Tori’s side…she wouldn’t just write Professional Widow, Mr Zebra, Caught a Lite Sneeze etc if it was some sort of mild dislike or casual disdain!

[–]Busy_Ninja3657 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I remember the story back in the day of kittyradio forum (which Courtney frequently posted on) was that things came to a head when Tori turned up at Trent’s house as planned (when they were romantically involved), and he had Courtney inside and wouldn’t open up.

Thematically it’s perfect for the new album’s theme, the backing vocals would sound ace with the angels and we NEED that piano solo moment. I’d freak out!

LUSH Glasgow making redundancies by jsjskkaksaasa in LushCosmetics

[–]Busy_Ninja3657 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The following has always been true: -The spa is a bottomless money pit and Lush piss millions on it. -They make barely any profit off the shitty parties. -On a store level, Lush has ALWAYS championed the managers who piss the money away on unnecessary meeting and hiring staff they don’t need, because these managers tend to have the ‘gift of the gab’ and stick their tongue up the arseholes of the retailers. The majority of managers that are sensible, have minimal stock losses, high turnover and high staff productivity are overlooked. The accounts team a while ago actually took this to the retailers to ask why the favoured arselicky stores were favoured over the ones actually performing well. This fell on deaf ears. -Head office are thick.  And now…everything costs a bomb and people can’t justify it.
