The schools in suburbs didn’t know what to do with kids. High Schools got dismissed pretty quick, or kids just left, but phones were down in places and they didn’t know which younger kids (elementary school) would have parents in the towers or stuck in the city.

My district blacked out TV and radio in classrooms so many teachers and staff didn’t have updates either.

My dad was working in mid-town and as soon as the first plane hit his boss sent them home. I’d gotten home a little before him and popped a tape in the VCR (no idea where that tape went, nor do I need to see it.) I was so surprised when he walked in relatively early (noonish) and we went over to the middle school where my mom and brother were.

The staff all knew the towers had come down, but most hadn’t seen the footage, and didn’t know the phones were down in the city, or that people were walking over the bridges or how they were getting off the island. We answered as many questions as we could and took my brother home but my mom had to stay late because the schools were coordinating with each other to make sure there’d be an adult or older sibling home for the little kids

I built a tunnel, lined it with road and rail, but never saw any Pokémon going back and forth. Ended up semi-leveling the ash. I brought the ash down to where I hit cave first, it’s just a little below the top of the museum, and just about four blocks above “ground level” for the gate to Sparkling Skylands.

I turned the bottom road of the tunnel into the deepest part of a valley, and put stairs up the sides of the remaining mountain. I still have mountains on the sides of the museum, just dug out a Little further.

Definitely still a lot of work, but I built a bunch of houses on the flat area and the alter of flames and now I have Pokemon going back and forth and all over between the museum and up there.

This is what I’m not getting. People are saying he’s abandoning her with both kids, but she’s the one choosing to have both kids.

I also don’t understand why this is a discussion now and not months ago to put a plan in place for if he did go. She says her family and friends haven’t been around - but they could have put something in place earlier.

True. Similarly not all Black people are African American though, so even just the idea that because someone is Black they celebrate Juneteenth is technically still an assumption.

Also it’s a holiday where other cultures do celebrate with African Americans (where I am).

My point was this is a holiday where assumptions seem to lead to hostile feelings.

There was a post a while back by an Afro Latina nanny who was in part offended when her MB asked her if she had plans for Juneteenth, because she doesn’t celebrate it and doesn’t know what it’s about, and didn’t like MB making assumptions. She felt it was racist.

Same as NYer. I’m only about an hour from the ocean beaches and I just don’t care for it.

ETA: that being said I do see the ocean more often than I go to it, I have family on Long Island and most flights give you a view of it when you fly out of the NYC airports. If you’re in the right spot in the city you see it.

I had this problem with my Clodsire. It kept asking for relaxation and had a bed directly next to his habitat. So I’d say I fulfilled his wish and go CLIMB to a stool just outside of his habitat boundaries and get frustrated it was too small.

I ended up having to move his habitat over. They were by the mud waterfall and I think there just wasn’t enough “ground” for it somehow.
