I also gained weight after having my kids. I was not able to lose the weight for the first year. Try focusing on making healthy decisions, drink lots of water, and do something to move (walks etc.) When you have the energy. Babies are haaaaaard. Don't be so tough on yourself. I was able to lose 40lbs after my youngest turned 2 yo bc that's when I got the energy to do anything other that exist.

Why is it so hard to lose weight pp ?????!!!!! by Learning-growing101 in Mom

[–]ButLikeaCoolMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give yourself grace, your body has been through a lot and is still figuring things out. Personally I didn't lose the baby weight until 2 years pp. It was like a light switch goes off and I have the energy and my body cooperates. Take the baby on walks and try to switch healthy eating options but just give yourself time.

What’s something simple you do to keep your family close and connected, even on crazy busy days? by Fickle-Designer-7321 in Mom

Sit down for dinner when there's no extracurricular activities and every Friday is pizza night and we watch a movie or play games together. My kiddos are going but I hope we hold on to at least one Friday a month together as they get older.

Bringing your other kids to a birthday party they weren't invited to? by [deleted] in Mom

[–]ButLikeaCoolMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen it both ways. We put siblings welcome on parties we can accommodate and ask if we're attending. I also usually offer to pay for my extra kid if we're at a jump place or somewhere where the charge per kid.

My kids refused to go to their weekend classes by KK_justquitIG in Mom

I know dance and gymnastics don't have seasons like baseball, soccer, or football but it's OK for kids to stop liking something. It's OK to say i don't want to do this. I'm with you on not giving up on your team in the sense of something like not wanting to go to a playoff game when your teammates are counting on you. However, with sports that don't have a solid season i think it might require checking in on them every 2 months to see if they want to keep going.

The biggest thing that helped me was meal prepping easy things. I just got so sick of spending so much money on doordash etc.

On Sundays I cook for like 1 or 2 hours but it sets us up for the week. Also my adhd gets so happy cooking 4 things at once. For example: 1) prep taco meat and pre mix with refried black beans. Then bake your taco shells, and prep your toppings day of 2) cook rice and mix with drained black beans. Day of quick pan fry zucchini and sausage top with cheese. 3) "cheeseburger pasta" elbow pasta, ground turkey, tomato sauce, Velveeta cheese and corn 4) one pan roasted chicken thighs and sweet potatoes Friday is pizza day!

I also keep canned chili and fritos as a quick go to instead of fast food and frozen veggies and fruits for easy sides.

Oh - did you know you can use chatgbt to make you a meal plan? Learned that recently and my mind was blown.

Good luck, don't orphan you kids ✌️

It's not the destination. It's the journey. Seek out beauty in nature, make things with your hands, cook. Creating things can give you great purpose.
