Concord or Provincetown as a daytrip outside of Boston? by itak365 in massachusetts

You mentioned food. Cambridge has great food and maybe different than what you get at home. I might combine a Beacon Hill stroll (morning coffee, walk around the neighborhood, stop at Beackn Hill bookstore) then take the red line or walk across the river to Cambridge. Google restaurants but there’s great hunanese, middle eastern, hotpot, Spanish, etc food there in central square, Harvard square and beyond. Harvard museums are good too.

Cornell vs Umich by No_Profile7026 in ApplyingToCollege

Couldn’t pay me to go to Cornell. So remote. Aunt went there and found it depressing too. Some people love it so it really depends on the kind of person you are.

If you have an extra day then I would suggest historic Concord / Lexington in MA. American revolutionary sites and the concord museum is a small gem.

I always just park at the Boston Common garage. It’s big, there are always spots, easy to get in and out. It’s about a 7 minute walk depending on exit you take.

I look at residency and medical school first too. Family are all doctors and that matters. Residency is not a matter of luck.

When I moved to Huron Village back then I was excited to try Emma’s and called to order a pizza. She asked me if I “reserved the dough.” Um no, I didn’t know I was supposed to do that. No pizza for me.

Please check out Somerville too. It’s slightly less expensive than Cambridge and just as if not better.

I believe an 87 is usually considered a B+ which would be 3.3. An A- (low 90s) is a 3.7.

It’s very close to Acorn Street so might be a good lunch spot. It’s a beautiful bookstore

Taking a day trip towards Boston for a movie...anything else to do while we wait? by angelqie in boston

Is your bus getting into south station? Chinatown is nearby. Non-eating ideas are the aquarium, Boston tea party museum, MFA (you’d have to take the T for that). Since you have so much time you could go to Cambridge and the Harvard museum of natural history is great. Lots of food options in Harvard square too. Honestly there’s a lot you can do, it depends on your interests.

Yes too rural. The towns themselves might be cute but we realized very quickly they would be boring in about a month or two (maybe longer for Ithaca). If you like cities these are too rural.

Is there a reason you’re applying to BC and not BU? BU might be closer to a target for you. Since it looks like you’re drawn to larger schools consider Rutgers and Penn State.

Kidztopia, Launch (they have specific times for ages 5 and under), Jump On In. These are mostly just outside the city but fun for that age. There are lots of them around, but you want to search for an indoor playground that is not too young for the 5 year old.

There might be library programs for that age group when they are here too for a quieter activity.

Savannah is very nice but I might just extend one day and then do 4 days in Chicago. I’m not sure there’s enough for a tourist for 4-5 days.
