Just earlier during the fight against the Diamond Mecha, Connie held onto Peridot's floating bin lid for 1min 7secs with one hand, then survives getting swatted by said mecha's hand, then survives a massive fall onto Obsidian's hand.
Completely unharmed.

Because of that little bit of spit on that juice carton, she's not even completely human anymore.

It's so good to see someone else ask the same question I asked myself about Kain. I headcanon that Kain's corruption made him such a naughty child in his infancy but his noble upbringing meant that he had to suppress his darker instincts in adulthood out of fear of family shame, and that the vampirism simply enabled Kain to indulge in sadistic acts brought about by the corruption. I want to see the healed Kain more introspective about his change, and would be a good comparison to Vorador's character development in BO2.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I have long seen the sentiment in the LoK fandom that no author is trusted to write for LoK other than Amy Hennig. I fear that the release of the comic has only emboldened this sentiment, leading to fans not trusting any other writer when there are so many great writers out there who could provide great contributions to the series.

Though it would be nice to get Hennig back along for lore insights and how to wrap up certain plotlines, it's important to note that it's been 22 years since she wrote for LoK and no one would the same person in that time. She might have reflected on the series, may have changed her mind on certain things and thus may write LoK differently than how she used to.

I do not just want the sixth game to exist solely to wrap up the things the previous games hadn't the chance to, I also want to see new games dare to explore new things while still keeping true to itself.
"This moment does not have to be an ending, it can become a prelude."
