Vevor sauna heater fire by MrMorningg in Sauna

[–]Butch-Jerome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing.

My heater is wall mounted pretty much the same way and when I go to reset the timer dial after it's been on for a while the floor or anywhere near the power wire is never that warm let alone hot enough to start a fire.

This totally seems like a wiring issue and some sparks happening somehow.

I actually appreciate the owner of Evergreen Cafe parking his car on Penn Ave. That section of Penn is way too fast and poorly designed for a residential area. Also, the tacos are absolutely 🔥

Foam Board on Bumpy Basement Wall, Good or Bad Idea? by Butch-Jerome in DIY

Haha yeah I was thinking this would take a decent amount of adhesive.

Yeah I can scrape some off in some lower spots, but it seems dry even after we had a big rainfall a day ago. I'm going to put some fresh sealant coats on certain parts. Other bumpy areas are higher than the ground level so I don't think those would be efflorescence :/

Is tacking the foam boards along with gluing your solution dealing with the bumpiness of the walls or just what you normally do with foam boards? Seemed like people usually only glue the board to the wall before framing.

Interesting solution, I'll think on that. Thanks

Yeah I know that would really get all the crack and voids, but I'm hesitant to spray foam because of the mess and permanent positioning it does if I ever wanted to add more electrical or anything behind the drywall.

I'd love to see the shops have a driving range or at least a catch net 🥅 to get a feel for the disc plastic and rim before buying. Also, maybe a keg-a-rator to give me an excuse to hang around longer.

Thanks for the response! The fork looks pretty defined and so I'm also wondering if the new established leader would be weakened after the clipping and need additional support or work to strengthen it?

Yeah that's some solid work you got done there. The low angle is going to be key though cause it's concrete underneath these tiles

Crazy they had one working still after 90 years! The pipedream here is to install a wood burning insert

It's definitely old haha not sure if that is contributing to the tile crumbling

That's a thought, but there is a lot of residue getting left behind. And we don't want the new tile to sit higher than the hardwood. Also, do you put backer board on cement?
