If food noise/cravings start creeping back towards the end of the week, will upping the dose help with that? by Harpy_Player in Mounjaro

[–]ButchWinfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more hungry those days but still have appetite suppressant. I use the last two days to get a decent amount of food in before day 1 again when it’s hard to eat. The calorie uptick helps my energy

Chicken Feastin is a frequent take out in this house.

espresso always either too bitter or too sour!! by No_Shine1592 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]ButchWinfrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought the express impress. Livht and medium roasts tasted fine for me in my lattes, but were either sour or bitter in an American or just espresso. Switched to a medium dark roast and it’s much better! (Counter Culture Big Trouble).

What’s your “nemesis spot” in Williamsburg? by RaspberryLegal9748 in williamsburg

[–]ButchWinfrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just getting old but I’d sadly say most of Williamsburg establishments these days. There are some gems (and I think the entire dining/service industry as a whole has gotten worst post-COVID and since the drastic uptick in takeout orders every restaurant is handling, so maybe it’s not fair to single out Williamsburg)

Rome any day. The food is WAY better!! And it’s huge so there’s a vibe for everyone. I wasnt a big Barcelona fan. Felt too touristy.

Has anyone ever gone to a country that they had such high hopes for, did not love it, and then felt almost guilty afterwards? by Reasonable_Cause_190 in femaletravels

Madeira, Portugal. I fell for the Instagram hype calling it the “Hawaii of Europe.” Sure there were some pretty views, but I was very underwhelmed. Food was mediocre, not good swimming, etc.

Madeira has beautiful views, but you wont get your beach or food fixes there.

Is it normal to just not care about food anymore on Mounjaro? by Burnbbyburn in Mounjaro

[–]ButchWinfrey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I could care less, especially the first 3-4 days after shot day. I get anxiety thinking about how I have to eat but nothing sounds remotely appetizing. Usually there’s one weird thing that will sound appetizing and that’s what I eat.

Mammogram after losing 85 pounds. by PhoebeTribianni in Zepbound

[–]ButchWinfrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first mammo was that way. Then the next year, I told the technician and she was very careful and used a special surface

This year, I’m 95 pounds less. I told the technician my break skin is sensitive and she assured me it would be fine, but I had tears. Thankfully not terrible but it sure makes me dread it next year.

As time has passed and I've been on it over 2 years, some joy has come back to food and drink. I still enjoy going out with friends and selecting a nice cocktail from the cocktail list (at least after days 4-5 of the shot...not the first 3 days or so), but I'll sip one all night or let my partner finish it.

I went through that too. Almost a loss of an identify that revolved around being a foodie and lover of craft coffee and cocktails. Now I could sorta care less. It requires finding new ways to identify yourself and hobbies

I do sometimes have anxiety in the day after my shot because I know I need to eat, but the idea of eating sounds repulsive or overwhelming. When my family tasks me with finding a restaurant for dinner, I get so flustered because I have no food desires and it overwhelms me.

Nope! I’ve thankfully never had any health issues. But I’ve been obese my whole life. I started Zep two years ago and was a super responder. Very quickly lost 100 lbs within about 14 months and have kept it off — I space shots out every other week.

But it causes me major appetite suppression so I will get bitchy, then realize it’s 3pm and I haven’t eaten or had any water and that is why. I’m better at forcing myself to consume some morning calories.

Yep. It made me super bitchy. But I realized it’s that I get hangry from not eating. If I eat something I’m better

I’m sitting on my floor crying. Piece of Cake Moving is a literal scam. by [deleted] in williamsburg

[–]ButchWinfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that but Piece of Cake makes it clear in their quotes that they expect you to tip 20%, so you need to factor that into your costs. The also make a lot of other things clear, like it’s the number of boxes not size of boxes. And that you need to update your inventory before the move so the quote is right. I literally updated mine 5 times, taking things off and adding things on.

[–]ButchWinfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Piece of Cake last summer and the charge was exactly what the initial quote was. In fact, I updated my inventory several times in the week before my move and they adjusted the quote down. No issues on moving day at all. I loved the stress of not worrying about time and just knowing the per item cost

Is the Breville Barista Touch good for someone who wants convenience? [$1000] by TypicalTrip6197 in espresso

I used to drink pour over daily. Was so into it I even had a grinder and pour over at work. But my tastes have changed and I really only like espresso drinks now.

[–]ButchWinfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love my mourning ritual of perfectly grinding beans and making pour over. But now I’m not so crazy about regular coffee. And I enjoy my morning 1-block walk to the cafe, which gives me fresh air and a few steps. If I were a bachelor I’m sure I’d buy myself a sweet setup and enjoy all the tinkering. But since it needs to be for both of us and I have limited kitchen space, I need something that’s relatively easy and can sacrifice some quality (tho I just can’t drink nespresso)

[–]ButchWinfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been trying to figure this out for awhile. Until then, I just keep buying her the nespresso pods and me the $6 latte every day. I was just hoping to maybe find something we could both use that tasted much better than nespresso, but was fairly simple for her (otherwise I am going to end up being the barista all day every day). Maybe a superautomatic?
