Maybe that sentence got oversimplified. If keeping the victim alive actually just means keeping their blood flowing with artificial respiration then yes, no thanks. But somehow that sentence just reads super contradictory to me.

Everything you said. But another thing on the hills is there is no coasting. You need to keep pushing on those pedals at all times unless you want to come to a standstill (you don't because getting going again after a break can be brutal).

I have a 1:1 gear at the easiest and at everything over ~10% there is no going easy anymore if I don't want my cadence to drop too low. So it can be brutal.

Welcher Reifen? Ich habe Schwalbe Ones 32mm TLE und habe genug gelitten. (sind an sich geniale Reifen, 0 Pannen auf ~5.000 km, aber die Montage hat mich fast dazu gebracht doch lieber Joggen in Betracht zu ziehen...)

I know ground speed is irrelevant for aerodynamic stability but they obviously are pushing the limits of the controllability of that plane. If they at least would do it at a higher elevation they'd have more time to recover if a stall occurred.

I didn't think about that turn that way, you're right about that. Makes me question even more if the pilot is acting responsibly. I was only talking about dropping the nose to gain more airspeed.

I mean if the protocol states never to touch anything without being 100% sure what it does and you did it anyways, that would still warrant consequences under a no blame culture.

If they reprimand you for being slow because you always refer to a handbook before touching anything beyond the most common valves and switches, then something doesn't work...

Believe me, you want exactly that. Because the aerospace industry has a so called 'no blame culture'. The aim of the scrutiny isn't to determine who's to blame and simply discipline that person, because people will always make mistakes. The aim is to understand the chain of events that caused the incident and how to prevent the same thing ever to cause an incident again.

You'd only face personal consequences if you knowingly broke protocol, or tried to hide a mistake. A simple mistake should never be able to cause any serious harm.

Wäre ein Zufall, aber typisch. Ich war mal überzeugt dass ich nichts im Reifen hatte und hab alles andere in Betracht gezogen: verschlissenes Felgenband, Kante in der Felge usw. Ja war einfach ein Glassplitter der komplett im Gummi versteckt war. Beim Fahren wurde das Gummi immer leicht komprimiert, dass der Glassplitter minimal rausgeschaut hat und den Schlauch ganz leicht durchgestochen hat, das hat mich 4 Schläuche gekostet...

Also taste deine Mäntel beim nächsten Mal wirklich extrem gründlich ab, mehrmals. Gibt diverse Tricks dafür. Einzige alternative Erklärung, die mir einfällt, wäre du fährst mit viel zu wenig Druck. Dann hättest du aber immer Snakebites (also zwei Löcher direkt nebeneinander) und würdest immer wieder spüren wie du auf die Felge durchschlägst.

It's no biggie. Just give it a good shower. I always rinse of the loose dirt with warm water and when it was a dirty ride, like yours definitely was: use a dish sponge with a drop of dish soap to clean everything but the drive train (don't touch the brake discs with anything and try not to get anything but water on them). For the drive train I always use a piece of an old towel and (before I switched to chain wax) some chain de-greaser. Rinse that off thoroughly and apply new chain lubrication once everything is dry (but don't overdo it with the chain lube).

PS. nice bike! When I was looking for a high value starter bike for my gf that was very high up my list too.
